Back to the drawing board doesn't mean cancelled. I don't know what Sony was getting at with DriveClub. Polyphony is their racing sim developer and Gran Turismo is far and away the most popular racing sim in existence. Evolution was an arcade racer dev last gen and they should stay that way.

They said it was like halfway between a sim a more arcady type deal.
