I didn't even know it existed in North America, I've always been told it was Japan release only.

No, it came out quite some time ago in the US. The only issue is that it's only downloadable on PSN for the PS3, it has English subtitles, and it's $50. Freaking Koei. If they pull the same thing with DW8: Empires or the next DW: Gundam...I'll be pretty frustrated.
