They have a whole life to love ahead of them, a whole world to see. It may bring sadness and happiness, grief or joy but as a child they may not have the will to carry on.
They must not be given the decision on there own life simply because they have not yet had a chance to live one.

I think that it would only be an option if the child was certain to die, they'd have to be assessed properly by Doctors and Psychs before anything was allowed to happen.
