Black Ops 2 Isn't THAT Bad Actually...
So I've put some serious time into Black Ops 2 today, after being a long time COD pessimist I've been shocked to find that it has all of the things I like in a game: ranking system, robust customization, decent co op mode, plentiful matchmaking options, I could go on.
The sad thing is I used to like Halo for all the reasons I hated COD, now with BO2 vs H4 they've totally switched sides.
Has anyone else honestly just given COD a try lately? (Aside from the actual fans lol)

Yes but it isn't THAT good either, which is my gripe with the game - it's so damned popular and sold so damn much, and yet it's not deserving of it at all.

I will still keep my eye open for future Halo games but right now for the first time in my life I will not be buying a new console just to play Halo. It's not worth the probable disappointment and rage. It's a good thing I'll always have my precious Skyrim to keep me warm.

13 RepliesI can kinda get into when there are friends to play with. But I can't seem no matter how hard I try to enjoy playing it for the game it self via playing it alone. I personally care little about customization options and when it comes to shooters I love old school arena mechanics. These shooters now-a-days love to add in lots of randomness to help the less skilled out. Those types of mechanics just really turn me off. But like I said COD is a fantastic social game but on the competitive side? No thanks I think Ill just keep waiting for a better game.

4 RepliesI sort of feel the same way about MW3, but Black Ops II is still at the bottom for me because of the perks that were made into attachments, the maps, and the futuristic theme that feels like it was from a late 80's or early 90's action film.

I've been a fan of CoD since numbro 4. Every November you know exactly what you're purchasing. CoD has never really strayed far from it's original formula since CoD4. Blops2 is honestly NOW one of my favorite entries in the series (behind the first two Modern Warfares). But when BLOPS2 drop it was a broken piece of shit. Zombies was garbage. Multiplayer was near unplayable. But after listening to their fans they patched it relatively quick and I like it quite a bit. In comparison, I can't stand MW3 and World at War and only played Blops1 for Zombies.

5 RepliesBlack Ops 2 was a big stepback from Black ops 1 in terms of core gameplay. Yah its got a lot of bells and whistles, but if you strip that away it is a broken piece of garbage. Also they ruined zombies, which is unforgivable.

9 RepliesNo need to wait on peoples opinion ... online number show people prefer the whole COD series over Halo. Ironically even the original Black Ops is preferred over Reach even though they where both released around the same time ... and the original Black Ops has to compete against 3 of its own title releases.

3 RepliesI play it every now and then with some friends from high school. The maps really let it down. Like really, there haven't been many good maps since MW2. MW2 is still one the best of the series.

1 ReplyI dislike the maps, and I find the weapon selection boring. Maps need more variety instead of corridors, some open wide maps wouldn't kill them. The weapons all look and feel sameish, especially in the rifle class.

2 RepliesI agree 100%. BLOPS 2 is the first COD to ever hook me into the MM. To be honest, playing with dog poo is more entertaining than playing H4 though.

1 ReplyI recently stopped playing Halo 4 and put in Black Ops 1, it is a lot of fun. everything is so smooth and it really is a good game. It kind of made me want to get Ghosts, but I'm not sure if I will, there are other games coming out that I'm looking forward to. Another game that I have taken a liking to instead of Halo 4 is half FPS.. Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the game is so much fun and I cant get enough of SvM.
