Ill be honest, if it was more subtle and augmented existing abilities more then i'd be more keen.
There was a time science and chemistry was considered magic, in Destiny it looks like lots of flashy colours followed by lots of death.

Also Atom, I agree that it would be nice to have some abilities that augmented things like visual abilities, speed, or strength. But that doesn't mean that there can't be any flashy moves. I'd love yelling the name of my signature move as I crash down on my foolish opponents. :D

Edited by Dawnfried: 7/31/2013 3:50:07 AMWas there ever really a time where science and chemistry were considered magic? It's something that can be formulated, built, and replicated every time if done correctly. I don't know if anyone ever thought gunpowder, how ships float, or anything requiring science thought of them as magic.

As atom soul says, people were mostly idiots back then, basically. xD

Science was something commonly misunderstood and even feared. It may seem illogical but it's more or less why there were witch hunts and such forth, because people didnt understand it, they feared it.

Back in the ancient times it was. Shamans who knew the power of herbs and potices were considered magic. Alchemists, even up til early midevil times were considered conjurers and magicians by the common man. Pretty much until knowledge spread out from beyond the clergy and the nobles, technology that was more than basic machinery was considered at least partly magical or divine in nature.

Edited by Atom Soul: 7/31/2013 2:45:28 PMEven now, if you look at the sheer expanse of technology and what the common man is aware of, i think it still remains proportionate in terms of the average individual being kept in the dark.. Even with what we know i still consider it magical and divine. =]
