I love Final Fantasy, but honestly I haven't really loved it since 10 and I think it needs to be put down. Since this game is such a radical departure (as it appears) from the standard turn/ATB combat that was a staple in all the other games, I feel that they ought to just make this its own game/series and lay Final Fantasy to rest (but they won't because of name recognition).
When I saw this during E3 I didn't even know it was a Final Fantasy game....

Most people probably recognized it. This game was the original FF 13, better known as FF 13 Versus. Its debut trailer was originally in 2006, but the project went silent in 2008(I think). Seeing this trailer to most is a sign that FF is taking a turn for the better rather than a Lightning saga/mediocre mmo mill.

Huh, I didn't know about that. Well, I certainly hope you're right about it being a turn for the better, because the past few games have painted a pretty bleak future for the franchise (in my opinion). But one thing I'll always miss is being able to actively play as more than one character...*sob*

It looks final fantasy. The trend of final fantasy numbered games is that they're a lot different from the game before. It seems like a natural evolution to go real-time to me, although I hope they mix in some elements of paradigm shifts into the game, THAT would be something new and awesome for an action RPG.
