The netcode is awful, but it's fun as hell. Also mods (the fun kind, not for cheating) and Halo: Custom Edition.

I don't understand what netcode is. Can you explain it? Halo 3 is a great game but people say the netcode is bad... I'll get Halo PC soon then, I hope it's worth it.

Netcode is essentially how the game deals with latency (lag). Games like Reach, with good netcode, make having lag manageable, even when it gets pretty bad. Games with bad netcode, like Halo PC, can be hard to play even if you're not lagging very much (shots not hitting, etc. etc.)
