I'm not particularly excited. I may or may not watch it. It seems to be more of an action sci fi flick as opposed to a serious sci fi film, and the genre really needs something to do it justice. I'll wait for After Earth, Dawn of the Apes, and Oblivion.

It's not supposed to be a serious sci fi film. It's just supposed to be an awesome little tribute to us kaiju fans. If you want a hybrid of serious themes and monsters, wait for Godzilla 2014. Just as the original was a metaphor for the nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Gareth Edwards is apparently dealing with another contemporary issue.

Well that's fine, it doesn't really have to be serious, however I just like serious sci fi films. I'll be eagerly waiting for Godzilla.
