Some bands are like this and I can agree that they do sound like idiots. But there are some bands that are very technical and put a lot of effort into the melodic/lyrical structure of the music. Trivium and Parkway Drive are too good examples of bands that have actual structure and lyrical vividness. A good example of idiots screaming through the mic is A7X in their older days, when Waking the Fallen came out. No structure, just random riffs and beats. But you probably have no idea what I am talking about considering you don't like metal, lol.
