So here's a quick overlay of the Puerto Princesa map with the Final Mosaic. Done roughly by me in Photoshop, aligned by the compass in the top right corner. Any clues??

could the tangents of the circles be coincidence or have meaning? I feel like I'm grasping at anything at this point.

Dots are major population hubs, rings are communication ranges, large ring in the middle is the ever present shadow of the Traveler? Just a few pot shots.

Edited by external: 3/18/2013 7:00:47 AMBoth of you, the Traveler hovers over The City, and The City is... wait for it... built on dry land. Inorite? The middle ring can't be the Traveler unless you're insinuating that the coastline has drastically receded, in which case there ain't much point to using overlays on the map at all.

I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest. it's the 1908 map. There's a lot of info we're missing between now and Destiny-time. But TeaPee did say the grids didn't match up.

True true, haha. Maybe they just used the same compass graphic for both artworks.
-
maybe the scale does need to be altered. it could clear up a few inconsistencies.

Yeah I think that that the middle ring could be the traveller. Then the Big circle is the outer/inner city wall? And then maybe the 5 other circles represent the territories of the 5 different guardian factions?
-
Makes perfect sense to me. Maybe the middle ring is the point that the Traveler hovers over, though?
-
Yeah you're right it could just be the hover point. I just realised that the grid on both maps isn't matching up. So the scale/alignment may not be right. However if it's supposed to be aligned based on the scale of the compass it's all good though.

Will try do a visual comparison between the river shape in the map and in screenshots/concept available. The compass in both images matches, so they must be linked huh?

I think it's safe to say so.
