I still don't see how it affects me. You talk about men with children. I don't have a child. You talk about men that want to dress like girls. I don't want to dress like a girl and if I did I wouldn't do it in public. You talk about gay crimes. I am not gay. You talk about female oriented jobs. I am in engineering that doesn't concern me. You talk about men not being able to turn to others for help. Everyone has a family and psychologists don't care about your gender as long as you can pay them. Even then I am not so weak to need such things since I have already been through many things in life. In the end those struggles help you grow up and realize what the world is like and how in the end very few people will truly be there for you. How that is affected by feminism is beyond my understanding. So you say feminism affects me when the truth is it doesn't. Now you can argue it affects men in some ways, but in the end I don't see how that matters. The world is cruel so get used to it and don't act like a child thinking everyone will be there for you when the truth is they won't.

 • I know a lot of girls that major in engineering.

 • Same, but I still don't see how that matters to me. The OP is trying to make personal connections to people in order to get them to help support feminism. Simply put everything in the OP that she mentioned doesn't affect me and really I view her method as a despicable method in order to get people to support your pov.

 • To be honest, this post does not directly relate to me either. But it does relate to men in general, and I think all men need to support this kind of stuff because if women succeed and help our world, then we all succeed. It's not about us being different in gender, its about making this world a better place for everyone and that's important. Like slavery, for example, does not directly affect me. I am not a slave nor do I know any slaves. But I know what is right and I will do my best to fight for righteousness.

 • Don't get me wrong I can understand raising awareness and I understand that the problems stated in the OP do affect men in general. However there is a difference in making people aware and trying to get them to support an ideal mainly for the benefit of women. I am all for supporting equality for everyone, but that isn't what feminism is it is equality mainly for women. Jay is trying to get people to support by using male inequality which can no way benefit from feminism as a way to get people to listen. If she truly wanted equality for all she wouldn't be limited only to feminism, but that is Jay for you. Also to change the world and to make people equal it will take a lot more than some nice words and pointing out flaws within the system. Change can only be accomplished with power which is beyond what people ITT are capable of. For that reason I view this as more so a guilt thread which is the worst method imo to get people to support you views/ideals.

 • Well, all revolutions are started by someone standing up for something that is right. One way to do that is by writing a long blog. She described in the post how feminism not only helps the women but also the world. So feminism isn't about women getting all the rights and men getting none, its about both genders being equal and having the same opportunities. It's like being a civil rights activist in a way. Black people having rights has helped America so since feminism can help us, why not support it?

 • True revolutions start by having people stand up for what they believe is right. However modern day feminism is more so about changing laws. In order to do so you need to be in a position to do so and even then you need to have approval by your peers. Though to go back more on topic sure a blog can help stir up change, but that is not the type of blog Jay wrote. Her blog doesn't provide any solutions to the problem instead her blog is all about who to blame. She constantly blames society without providing solutions to the issues she stated. The whole purpose of this is to make people feel guilty and help support feminism which is for women. You say feminism isn't just about women, but by definition it is. If anything if you truly want equality you would voice equality for everyone not just women.

 • Also, I don't think Jay has ever said she just wants women to get all the benefits out of this. This whole post was about the world being benefited.

 •
You talk about female oriented jobs. I am in engineering that doesn't concern me.
I know quite a few women that would be very angry with this.
