Look at Hong Kong a once thriving unmatched Metropolis under British Rule, one of the places history looks to show the good side of the Empire.
Now China has taken over its going down hill quickly and abolished minimum wage, people cannot feed themselves or live in slums sometimes 5 people to a small room.
If you want people to live in slums and increase the crime rate then abolish minimum wage.

Minimum wages also harm the economy and jobs.

Get rid of minimum wage (Set at the price people need to live) and watch the wages plummet. People can't afford things already, cut their wage's and what happens then? Society collapse because the benefit system would be carrying millions of people that would otherwise be able to look after themselves. Unless companies are going to drop prices of their products a cut in wages is going to have nothing but bad effects.

Yea because having a dictator and being under communist rule really made an effect. You could be communist and have a dictatorship where a country has a minimum wage. The type of government has nothing to do with it, abolish minimum wage under any type of government and business's will pay as little as they can for maximum profits. Thats even more true in a capitalist economy, which is most of the west.

And people starving isn't because of no minimum wage, it's because there isn't enough food or jobs to support 3 billion people.
