How many of you will be here after Destiny?
Look at this community. Now focus in on how many people of them have been here since '01, '02, or '03. How many can you name that aren't employees, and aren't Halo53 or Yoozel? Not a lot, huh? Even the master race that is the '04 Mythic has diminished significantly over time. Do you think time will have the same effect on the Destiny community, as we're on the cusp of a new generation?
How many '04s do you think will be here come the end of the Destiny Era in 2023/2024? Are there really going to be that many people who spend 20 years with the Community? Do you think the fact that the community has grown will assist in the maintenance of the long-term user population? Do you think YOU will be here in 2024? Do you want to be here in 2024 but think you'll just stop coming over the next decade and a year?
What say you, Destiny?

I plan to be so long as Bungie continues to support its games and community. PS I find it funny that Bungie still shows up as a misspelled word in bungie.next.

I'm pretty sure I'll be here. I was here just before H2 (as a ghost without officially joining, then when I joined fully, well... that account got lost over time and homelessness), and I imagine I'll be here long after Bungie is done with Destiny and has moved on to the next Universe.

Its hard to say...ive been a bungie fan since pre H2,and only recently re-joined the community with the reveal of Destiny. So i guess,like with H2,if its as engrossing and time consuming as Bungies legendary predecessor, then no,ill be playing the game,not posting on the forums. But who can predict what will happen in 10 years.

Sure there are not as many old members as there were several years ago, but they are not as rare as you think they are.

I've started lurking around here in 2005, didn't create an account till 2007. And I have found my self slowly losing interest in gaming. Don't get me wrong, I love to play games. They have been an out to this crazy thing that we call life. But the more time drags on, the older we get, some start to realize that there are more important things in life and others lose the energy to devote them selves to so many things. So, will I still be here by the end of the Destiny era? Don't know. As of now, I would probably say no. Not because my fondness for Bungie and the amazing games they have created and will create, but because of a little know fact. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1 Cor. 13:11) Probably taking it a little out of context, but the words fit. When Destiny ends, I will be nearing 1/2 my life. (average life span in my family, 82) I hope that when I'm 75 that I will still be playing game, what else can you do from a Hover Round? But the older you get, other things start to mean a little more. That is just me, for someone that builds these games that we love, they probably have a different outlook.

Being here since 04 and I will be here beyond Destiny. Most likely as a Bungie employee. (Hopefully!)

Yes. I'll probably know a lot more community members here by the time Darkness 2 arrives. It'll probably be more fun than our first Darkness.

By the time Destiny is over with I'll have been a member for 14-15 years. Pretty crazy to think about, but I hope I'm still here with this awesome community.

Depends If theres a major change in management then you can believe I won't stick around, a brand is not what it was without the people who originally backed what you liked. As for these forums, I [b]HATE[/b] this layout. I once considered the OffTopic forum a great asset for always getting some sort of response. Now however, that is not the case. Only time is going to tell.

If it wouldn't have been for my age i would have been here and stayed here since 02 or 03 I played halo trial edition when it came out, i didn't join unit 08 literally because i never knew this site existed i played the game but never looked into the developer. OH how young and foolish i was. I will be here and i will come here unitl the day this site ceases to exist.

I hope I can spend the next 20 years with this community. Bungie is the company I want to eventually end up working for, I doubt that will happen for a long time but I hope it does eventually.

Well, I've been a part of the community for 7-9 years and I don't plan on leaving just yet. I'll probably stay for another decade before taking my leave. But until that day, I shall enjoy whatever time I have on this site.

Well, technically, there are fans in the community who have been here since the days before there even was an interenet, let alone a B.net. It's quite possible there are 20 year veterans [as fans] viewing this very thread! Having said that, I plan on hanging around for while yet myself. I'm not as active as I was just a few months ago, but I'm still getting used to the new B.net layout and twitter-esq tagging system [I don't use twitter. Not at all!]

There is only very few, because 12 years ago, barely anyone even knew who Bungie was. Now we have a huge community of people. It is not hard to imagine many of them sticking around for another decade.

Well, I was here before Destiny and I'll be here after Destiny. Unless I get an eviction notice, I'm not leaving.

It's hard to say. Everything will be completely different in 10 years. I'll be out of college, working, etc. I can only hope I'll still have time and the passion to do what I love... playing Bungie's games. (and video games in general)
