I'm pro gun control. That is to say I think owning a gun is fine, but I think they should be regulated more and be more restricted.
First of all, the 2nd Amendment says we have the "right to bear arms", but I don't think that meant having your own arsenal in your home. So I'd limit the amount of weapons people can own. No one needs 20 handguns, 10 shotguns, and 15 assault rifles. What is the purpose of that?
Secondly, I'd make the rules for purchasing a firearm more strict. Apart from the background check references must be required and a psychological evaluation submitted, as well as a gun safety course (for new owners). I include the references because if they're useful for finding out about potential employees they can be useful in finding out about potential gun owners on a more personal level than just the background check.
Lastly I'd straight up ban the sale of assault weapons to civilians, this includes ex-military and police. There is no need for them, they were designed for combat. Period.

Collecting is the purpose of that. People don't need 15 cars 78 knifes but some people collect them. Mental health care is the main thing in this issue that needs to be addressed. I should be able to own all the assault weapons I want if I'm responsible with them.
