I'm pro gun control. That is to say I think owning a gun is fine, but I think they should be regulated more and be more restricted. First of all, the 2nd Amendment says we have the "right to bear arms", but I don't think that meant having your own arsenal in your home. So I'd limit the amount of weapons people can own. No one [i]needs[/i] 20 handguns, 10 shotguns, and 15 assault rifles. What is the purpose of that? Secondly, I'd make the rules for purchasing a firearm more strict. Apart from the background check references must be required and a psychological evaluation submitted, as well as a gun safety course (for new owners). I include the references because if they're useful for finding out about potential employees they can be useful in finding out about potential gun owners on a more personal level than just the background check. Lastly I'd straight up ban the sale of assault weapons to civilians, this includes ex-military and police. There is no need for them, they were designed for combat. Period.
