1: Perfectly fine. I think the same way when I emulate games. I pretty much only emulate ones I own.
2: I'm leaning on the side of saying it's morally ok, but since it is a completely different product, I'm not sure. Then again, so are the books, but this just seems different.

Emulating games is still piracy, even if you own a separate license. Morally okay? Probably.

I was talking about morals, not legality. Also, I'm pretty sure that it's legal to emulate a game that you rip from the cartridge yourself, so what's the difference with downloading it?

I highly doubt you're making copies directly from the cartridge, and even that is copyright infringement.
