Its the same with speedos and boxers too.
I'm a water polo player, and I'm in my speedo all the time. But if I walk around the pool deck in only my boxers, "Put some clothes on!"

To be fair, a Speedo doesn't have the same hole in the front that most boxers do. There's a bit more danger with boxers.
