Hi there, Thank you for reaching out, Game platforms (Steam/PSN/Xbox) can’t be unlinked any more. As of March 25, 2025, once a platform account is linked to a Bungie.net profile, it cannot be removed or swapped; only Twitch can still be unlinked. For security/legal reasons, Bungie can’t forcibly unlink hacked platform accounts or “delete” a Bungie profile to free up your Steam. Their Account Security Guide explicitly says they cannot remove connected platform accounts from a profile; you have to work with the platform (Steam/PSN/Xbox) to recover and secure the login. Because of that: Securing your accounts is step one Work with Steam support and your email provider to lock everything down (new password, 2FA, etc.). Once you control those again, the original hacker shouldn’t be able to get back in even if you keep using this Bungie account. The ban itself can only be reviewed by Bungie Safety If you haven’t already, submit an appeal here: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049024492-Contact-Form-Appeal-Ban-or-Restriction They’re the only team that can look at whether the ban was due to the hack; forum support can’t overturn it or make exceptions. For Marathon specifically Marathon uses the same Bungie account system as Destiny 2; Marathon characters and progress live on your Bungie profile. Bungie can’t delete this profile or move your Steam purchase of Marathon to a new Bungie account. If you don’t want to use this Bungie ID at all, the only workaround is a different platform / Steam account + new Bungie profile, which would unfortunately mean re‑buying the game there.

4 RepliesWhy not use a brand new account for Marathon? Did you already purchase it on this Steam account?

2 RepliesOnly residence of UK and California can request a ban. That action is also permanent and it's applied to all linked accounts. It also can not be appealed.
