What about our vets?

I'm all for pride month, make shaders, celebrate, do what you want out of the freedom of your heart, but what about the people who fought for those freedoms and yes I'm talking about Veterans of Armed Forces. Will there ever be a time we get a PTSD awareness emblem or shaders that symbolize the branch of military that Veterans served in? etc.......I'm am a Veteran myself and would love to see this happen for all who served and play Destiny 2 the past 10 years. Thankyou for listening! BY FORCE AND VALOR! DRAGOONS!

We created the Jumpmaster Ghost Pin and Look Up emblem back in September 2023, and they are still available today in that link. These were created in partnership with Team Rubicon and our employee veterans and were announced through a special blog post, This Week at Bungie, the Bungie Foundation, our press room, and social media. The Jumpmaster emote was also available during that time, and may return again in the future. We also released a mental health emblem, in partnership with Guardians Mental Health, as part of National Stress Awareness Month back in April, which we shared in This Week at Bungie, an in-game announcement, and on social media. A pin is coming out next year. ------- I'm locking this thread. "What about"-isms are weak arguments and always get brought up during Pride month. It's very telling that this thread was specifically chosen to be created to coincide with this month, considering that the last time you engaged with our forums on a regular basis was two years ago, and you've previously been banned for anti-LGBTQIA+ comments. Bungie has many employees, friends, loved ones, and family members who are veterans, and we honor them just like we do everyone else. We also have employees, friends, loved ones, and family members who are LGBTQIA+, too. Threads and comments like yours are disrespectful toward them, and our overall community, and will not be tolerated. To our LGBTQIA+ community members, we appreciate and honor you this month. Don't let threads like this ruin your day. You are celebrated and should be seen and live your life in peace just like everyone else. ❤️ Bungie

Who’s veterans? Which wars? Cold wars too or just hot wars? Only “good guy” country veterans or all veterans?

      • I do like your suggestion. I am all for supporting veterans. I also agree with the other comment below. What veterans would be included, since this is a worldwide game. Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community is something that can be supported and recognized worldwide. All people who are in and or support the community, already have symbols and colors to use, and that doesn’t change between countries and nations. Someone would have to form a group/ community/ team to come up with symbols or colors that represent and value all nations veterans, since this is a worldwide game. If something like that happened or was already formed, it would be easier to potentially implement into a video game setting.

        • It’d be more compelling if you weren’t asking for it at the beginning of pride preparations and in response to Bungie releasing special things for this. Feels like bad faith when you do this.

I'm a veteran. I want none of this. People also keep going on about veterans with PTSD, most of us don't have PTSD. People assuming we all do is getting very annoying. I did 12 years and went to the Gulf in 91, followed by Bosnia and Kosovo between 92 and 96. I don't need a pat on the back or some tat from a games company. I got paid and made mates that have lasted a lifetime. Some of us need help, plenty available for them and they don't want or need sympathy either. Stop using us as a pawn in the culture wars. We are mostly extroverts with a weird sense of humour and an ability to laugh at anything, in any weather. We enjoy each other's company and can't be bothered with people using us to virtue signal. Stop it. Now

Bungie released an emblem and emote for veterans. As a veteran myself, I'm happy that was available.

            • Just imagine if Bungie was a German company and you were asking them to support their veterans. That’s why they can’t support veterans. Destiny is an international game with an international player base and therefore would have to support all veterans, good and bad. So it wouldn’t be the veterans they are supporting it would be war.

              • First and foremost, thanks to everyone who puts on a uniform and sacrifices their own safety, well-being, and time with family and friends in service to their communities, their homes, and the general welfare. Genuinely, from first responders to veterans of the armed forces, you do what many of us cannot, you answered a call to a higher duty that many of us simply never hear. So long as you execute your duties faithfully and to protect others, you’ll always be heroes. That said, respectfully, though you deserve more credit and appreciation than most of us civilians can rightfully demonstrate, there are those serving who currently face discrimination from their brothers and sisters in arms (or no longer currently serving because of discrimination recently passed into law in certain countries) simply for existing as a member of one of the communities celebrated during Pride Month. I’ll gladly stick up for all of your rights to be recognized and honored, as soon as the same can be said for those who serve with distinction while under discrimination. And, in case this does get pulled down and I get banned because of it, once again, thank you all for your service, and God bless.

What about us???? (Vets and Active Duty) I'm currently serving now, and will retire out soon. (US Army, 13a) And I have to tell you, I won't lose one bit of sleep if we don't have an emblem in a video game. And will still serve my country to the fullest. I respect your post OP, but some of the replies below are just insane. It's not that serious. As long as we get to serve our country, and protect loved ones, that's all that should matter. Some of you guys are something else. Stop politicizing this because of Pride month. Be happy we're a diverse group of people.

                      • Two things. 1. Cheers for your service. 2. There is an emblem called look up. For veterans and first responders it's got a little ghost with a parachute on with a blue background. Don't know if you can get it anymore. Hope this helps cheers and peace.

                      • Recognition is always appreciated but are you talking just about US personnel? To avoid friction Bungie would have to design an emblem that resonated with all nations, may be possible but potentially controversial. I'm a 26 year veteran of the UK Royal Air Force and retired in 2010 and I'm not bothered about an emblem in Destiny TY
