If you want an enjoyable trials experience utilize the trials passage instead of the lighthouse passage. Learn the maps, learn the lanes, learn how the game mode functions. Once your comfortable in your ability THEN start utilizing the lighthouse passage.
Trials uses comp ranking for matchmaking instead of open skill. Bronze/Silver match against each other, Gold/Plat match against each other, Plat I can match against ascendants.
What is the point of a competitve crucible ranking if it's not used in the most competitive mode in the game for crucible?
So then you'd still have great players with no interest in comp then stomping bronze lobbies cuz they'd be hard stuck there by this logic.
You have 26 lifetime crucible resets; and really never touched trials before the rework. Why wouldn't you make use of the trials passage that Bungie is giving to allow players like yourself with minimal experience to get the experience for this mode...As your skill increases you'll continue facing better players and one day you will find that all your trials passage games are getting too easy; or you find the game is now putting you against players that have all have 'trials glows' which means you've 'graduated' and are now basically ready for the lighthouse passage.

This is a fair statement, and despite @death-dealer-213 being so snarky in his original reply to my post and reply to your post, I have a lot of respect for the way you put it. You both said the same thing, however, you put it in a teaching perspective, one that I can respect and get behind. Yes I'm stubborn and will more than likely just keep bashing my head against the wall that is the lighthouse passage but it doesn't mean I don't see the logic in your statment and the irrationality in mine. I'm not a very patient person when it comes to some things, and I don't know if this will be one of those that I can learn patience for. But thank you for putting it in a way that makes sense.
I'm not a very patient person when it comes to some things, and I don't know if this will be one of those that I can learn patience for.
Not sure if this is your first pvp FPS; but they take time. Even if you come from another game with impecable aim, D2 has so much aim assist etc, that the skill gap is more about movement, ability management, map knowledge, positioning than it is aim. You're going up against people that have been playing this franchise for 10yrs. Most of the great players didn't get that way overnight.

Nah, not my first pvp FPS by a long shot, but I went roughly 15 years between them. Played COD back in the day on Xbox 360, was pretty damn good at it, but moved to pc gaming and couldn't keep up so I focused on MMOs and what not. Got back into Destiny 2 about 2.5 years ago and just got into crucible regularly about 6-8 months ago. I know it's going to be a long time before I can truly compete, but I feel like in the last 6 months I've come a long way already. And there are quite a few adepts that Trials offers that I enjoy using in PVE which is why I'm willing to bash my head against a wall to eventually get to the lighthouse. I know it's not ideal, and probably working against me in the long run, but I'm stubborn like that. The gunplay I can somewhat compete with in trials currently, it's the movement, map knowledge, and certain gun types that I struggle with. I tried going for the osiris passage the first week it came out, and I spent more time losing on that one than I did on the lighthouse one (granted I got carried in each of those matches), but It made me want to rage so hard fighting for even one win that I never got on the osiris passage.

If you can’t win games on the trials passage or at least compete to the point you’re consistently at the top of the board and outplaying your opponents; you’ll simply just struggle or be consistently praying to RNGesus for a carry . If you’ve been gaming that long then you know back then we had no sBMM. It was get good or get -blam!- on. Trials on the lighthouse card is no different. You absolutely can learn to play trials consistently running the lighthouse card; that’s how everyone else learned before the institution of the practice pool and now the trials passages. I wish I had a trials passage back in the day to learn the mode. I’d probably have less grey hair

Yeah, I think the issue is today has been the worst bout of trials I've ever had. even the bit that I played prior to even the persistence passage. The only contribution i've had is on my titan and I'm more of a hunter/warlock main in pvp and pve. But barricade with bolt charge and I think the little bit of trust I have in seismic charge has boosted my confidence on titan where even if I'm carried I'm still contributing and potentially not dying as often without team shooting. I expect running the lighthouse card I'll get carried on 99.9% of my wins, but if I can in some way contribute to that, even if it's not dying and getting maybe one shot off to help then the part of me that wants to progress is good with that.

Get outta here with your logic and common sense.
