Because of the XP system in place limiting XP gains at level 150 in the battle pass, I'm in a position, as a player, where it would actually benefit me if i stopped playing the game for 2 weeks.
Why would I continue earning Season Pass Challenges, or doing anything at all in the game, knowing that it's not progressing me anywhere on the season pass?
For future seasons, please allow me to unlock all 150 levels unlimited. I think it'd be fine to withhold the rewards, but please don't just throw my XP from challenges in the trash! I have lost 15 levels worth of Season Pass unlocks because of this silly system.

9 RepliesI noticed that was happening, so I did what they apparently wanted me to do...Play less and don't do bounties. Like you said, withhold the rewards, fine... but XP flying off into the void is ridiculous. (I know you get Bright Engrams every 500k, but that in itself is comical)

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
I have like 20 seasonal challenges unclaimed, even if I don't hoard bounties I will more than likely be near to max rank has soon has I log in on act 3 launch -
Straight from Bungie. NO
-
For the Season Pass challenges, you can still do them just don't turn them in. It helps you rank up real fast when the next Act drops.
-
I haven't turned any seasonal weekly challenges in since Act 2.. that way as soon as Act 3 lands, I can almost complete it in one go and not have to worry about actually playing the hugely boring content right now. Seriously, I'm trying to find reasons to play the dam game.

There really is zero reason to keep playing at this point, even over-leveling has no benefit. Better to run the story one day out of the week or maybe the weekend and play something else. Maybe they want us to not play as much, which is certainly working on me!

Timegating XP is a mechanic that could’ve only come from someone who doesn’t work in Bungie anymore. Let us earn the ranks, but lock the rewards at an appropriate time. That would’ve been the common sense thing to do…
-
WILD idea inbound. Some people just like playing the game for reasons other than the season pass. You can also not collect the seasonal challenge rewards until next season drops, thus not wasting any of the exp.
-
It's not that big of a deal. Don't turn your seasonal challenges in until the next act
-
I don' tknow why they can't have you continue to gain ranks and simply cut off the battle pass gains at certain points of the season. Totally a bad move and another no show from bungie on why they chose to go this route. If I earn it, why can't I actually earn it?
-
Why, you ask? To keep you coming back and PLAYING. This entire game is one big time sink. Period.
-
I’ve just been completing seasonal challenges and not turning them in. You can do the same with bounties also. But I will say a few week break from the game doesn’t hurt anybody
-
Just don’t turn in the Seasonal Challenges. Save weekly bounties. If your big grind in D2 is the season pass, you’ve got bigger problems on your hands than Act Limits. Take break. It’s better for your mental health compared to… posting this.

2 RepliesI can’t take any player seriously with guardian as gamer tag. Sorry I couldn’t help myself 😂
-
Playing devil's advocate here but the counter-argument is : if everything was released at once some would burn through it all asap and then be more bored for longer afterwards. More important to me is that 99.99% is not even desirable at all.
-
I just don’t turn them in. I’ve got a few just sitting there waiting for Act 3 to drop.

2 RepliesEdited by Who Xur Daddy: 8/14/2024 1:20:19 AMOnce you hit 50/100, save turning in your challenges like the rest of us. Problem solved. I’ve got 3-4 million in XP banked and ready to turn in.

I would like to keep earning new bright engrams past season cap but with more items Included. * I do not care what anybody says the amount of actual ornaments and stuff has been minimal! Over the YEARS of playing I may have gotten 2 ornaments and bright dust dropping maybe 4 times...in 8+ years!!!
-
Just save your seasonal challenges and claim them on act 3 launch day. Instant max rank.
-
This is one of the reasons I stopped playing for now. I love to grind out the cosmetics early on for Destiny's true endgame. But they ruined that.
-
Yep, doesn’t help that I have a level discrepancy due to challenges in act 1
-
2 RepliesJust hold your challenges do not claim them until act 3 drops

7 Replies15? Im at like 203, im down the entire next act
