Why is the Final Shape Campaign so difficult to solo??? Why did they do this? I haven't finished the campaign missions and just stopped playing the game because I got frustrated with the mission near the end (don't even know for sure if I am near the end!).
I don't have any friends who have bought the Final Shape so had no choice but to play through solo. Usually this isn't a problem! What's the point in making it so frustratingly difficult?
-
They only like solo players money and have no respect for them. I found the missions frustrating and boringly similar. For the last one it really helps to find a good video to watch. Once you know the mechanics and how long it is it helps a lot. I rage quit probably four times, but tried again every couple of days until I got it on one character, my hunter. Not sure if I'll ever finish on my other two since I'm sick of boss fights in small caves. And don't get me started on immune barriers and those pink bars!

Legendary, yes. It’s hard to solo. I read online people saying it’s not bad, but they probably have the best gear/weapons. This is the issue I have with having a hard campaign. The game already has hard content, like optional quests, nightfalls, dungeons and raids. There is no need for the campaign to be hard. Campaign missions are also too long. The problem with encouraging people to play the campaign with a team is how difficult finding a team is. I don’t know if this app isn’t being used or what, but I have wasted so much time trying to get a team together. I wonder, do people even play this game? Finding a good team for the final boss was harder than the actual fight Having said that, I did solo some of the missions, especially the final boss, and I don’t have the best weapons/gear. It just takes many attempts with different loadouts and strats.

Edited by nonchalantone: 6/28/2024 10:25:10 PMTwo words, "The Call". (Sidearm) Between that, Dragon's Breath, and Stasis/arc turrets on Warlock...it was a cakewalk. Only if you're using Warlock though! Almost made me change my name to "Duke Nuke'm"!

1 ReplyI thought it was fine, until the last mission. Played and finished it on legend and didn't really have too many issues. The last mission was a pita tho, but still, it's the last mission. Anyone remember Calus? 😣
-
1 Replythe campaign is beyond horrible and the only upside is since I have yet to finish it I have been saved from having to play the rest of blowholes horrible game
-
2 RepliesI played part of it on the higher level but turned it down to normal after a while. I've not tried again yet but I might give it a go. I've never grouped up for any campaign.

Enemies spawn behind you and on top of you constantly. That might get why you are finding it difficult. Normal mechanics in the game give you an “enemies in front” combat style. I also found the mechanics irritating. It was even harder to work out what to do with the sheer volume of ads constantly spawning on top of you. Just had to die a few times trying to work out what to do. My invis Hunter build helped with that, gives you time to think. Although I noticed some enemies seem to still “see” you. Graviton Lance, the new rocket sidearm and a rocket launcher saw me through with not too much trouble. Will finish working through it on Legend when I have time.

Loadout check my guy I dont hate the red death, but your heavy rockets for that mission, and primary strand fusion are holding you back. A few suggestions, the call sidearm is readily available on pale heart, will treat you way better than that fusion especially with value for ammo / utility. You need LMG for reliable harbinger / weaver dps in my opinion to take advantage of precision damage. Commemoration (reconstruction), hammerhead, unwavering duty (trials), fixed odds to name a few with really good rolls and options. You get way more value per heavy brick drop especially in this mission from LMG dps than rockets. Would you rather have 72 LMG bullets or two rockets (lot easier to miss) in most cases? Armor charge with LMG damage type surge to make it a little more potent, then have charged up mods on chestpiece to make it last longer. Also use new void axe super instead of bladefury here for the axes weaken effect to assist with dps and burst in general. Utilize shackle grenade for groups of the grim on the right and left of witness room. They are typically the enemy that will challenge your cover and fly at you. Dont give up. I will give my time if you need help. Good luck

I’ll help add me 👍🏾

Its not very difficult to solo at all
-
Man first of all the legend is difficult but doable, maybe not with your titan tho id go warlock with devour or even look up plunder on YouTube for builds he's the man. The bleak watcher and helion with graviton lance is your friend also getaway artists.

Because game for strimers and 10% hardcore gamers…I was also tired on the 8th day from this senseless running around, and just left the game... there are a million enemies and everyone is shooting at you and the most interesting thing is that the rocket launch could not kill the servitor lol, experts season run... now I spend my free time in D4 it’s clearer and there is an endgame but you can always get what you want in this game from you, it’s not hidden behind missions that you cannot complete and you don’t have to farm one thing for 30-40 minutes or tediously run the same thing (everything is faster and easier there you may get tired of doing this for an hour, but you will get 100 times more than in D2 during this time... bungo no longer understands what they are doing, they themselves do not play their game and do not listen to 70% of the players and this is what happened, the next garbage of which is less for the same money and it’s even more boring and tedious!! Gambit is more fun to play than everything else in this game...

All those stupid Raid mechanics.....
-
It's a bunch of raid/dungeon style mechanics as a campaign.

12 RepliesNormal difficulty was perfect for me playing solo — challenging in places, but not too much (I’m a casual PvE player). However, everyone’s different and they should have an easy mode for those who prefer that.
Remember to use your checkpoints (I think some people have missed those, or they were bugged).
2 RepliesHonestly, I struggled with the last fight. I had to lfg it. On normal 🥴😆 I'm a stones throw from 50 and I jus not as quick as I used to be, so I found bits of it tough, tho I've seen folks solo the legend with barely taking a hit. I enjoyed it for the most part, but found it overly reliant on mechanics to a point of tedium. There's lots of folks either in the same boat or willing to help. Lfg it. You might even meet a few new friends 👍 And I bet you get offers of help in this thread. I'd pitch in as long as it's not legend. I'd be hindrance than help 😉

Part of the reason is Bungie's poor balancing, but also the fact that the dlc's release seems to have unleashed a series of glitches where enemies can just instakill you for no reason and all the death thing has to say is "Killed by the Architects."
-
All of the legend campaigns have been like this. It has nothing to do with difficulty, but it's the way Bungie balances the game....they make it tedious as heck. Difficulty in destiny is a bunch of enemies in the smallest arena. It makes you want to hurt yourself
-
The final mission Iconoclasm on Legendary is really difficult even with a team. I tried about 10 times with various random groups. Each one was a failure. You're killing a Knight and then suddenly two more of them are behind you. Then you die, your teammates cannot reach you for the revive, and that section of the mission is a wipe.
-
Everyone will tell you how easy it is. I could only manage legendary on one character. I wasn’t going to suffer it on three. On the solo video of it for Eso. He had a sliver of health several times. They have badly overturned the game and the player exodus shows it

Edited by Scourged One: 6/28/2024 4:18:52 PMIt's actually much easier to solo, even on Legend difficulty, than it is to run it with 2 other people. Build into survivability. Make Orbs with Siphon mods on your helmet, and then have Better Already and the other one I can't recall the name of... so you heal whenever you pick up an Orb, equipped on your boots. Makes surviving much easier.
-
I've tried it with LFGs, was actually easier solo, I was stuck on last mission for the longest till I just cleared my self
-
The spike in difficulty between the last mission and the rest of the campaign was a bit jarring at first. Most of the earlier missions were easier than I expected so the jump at the end was a bit of a shock.

Edited by FluffyReven: 6/28/2024 12:20:20 AMI did all missions on legendary except for the last the first day, the last mission made me give up after trying it 20+ times. Leveled up my light and got some other weapons, tried again and still struggled. Then I read something about where to place yourself and I did it on the first try. Some missions are very hard, I'm not going to lie. Tormentors have a special place in hell, right next to subjugators and the exploding husk worms.
-
i soloed the legend campaign on titan day one, only the last mission can be called slightly difficult, difficulty for all previous missions are fine
-
3 RepliesOk... did you try not playing on legend difficulty? If its still hard I suggest using a bunch of broken builds out there.
