Too little too late now. I doubt Gambit will get anything. I wouldn't be surprised if its removed and if they do something with it, I bet it gets changed to something else in entirety while just retaining the name. I don't even have much hope for the Vanguard playlist or even Crucible at this point. There's no work being done to make these core activites even remotely worth engaging with.

The single most hated aspect of gambit is feeling you are in a terminator movie one game and -30 light level raid contest mode the next. It’s so inconsistent. With the same loadout I can single Handed wipe and entire wave, next dame i struggle to string together a few kills never mind banking motes. Same map same enemies.

And make ritual armor mean something. Have it give some sort of benefit for playing specific modes.

Agreed, I love me some gambit prime and funny enough I was thinking about the old blockers and holding 20x motes. At least the current gambit still uses some mechanics that came from Prime such as the envoys for the primieval shield. Also I believe the armor sets (collector, sentry, invader, and reaper) are available at the Drifter via the focused decoding under legacy gear if you’re interested.
