I came back to the game and pre-ordered on the face of the adverts about the prismatic subclass and the awesome exotic class item which we were told that we will be able to farm. I suppose technically, they did not lie, but they did mislead us into thinking that it was something we could all partake in. Campaign was decent. Got the Still Hunt exotic sniper, got the Ergo Sum sword (with crappy rolls), did the start of the episode on Nessus. And then realized that I don't really want to play anymore. Maybe I'll run the campaign again on my alts, then put this game down again, but probably for good this time. Was a good run Bungie, shame that the dessert at the end had a bitter taste.

I play with a clan of people and always have people readily available to do any kind of Multiplayer activity, but I still whole-heartedly agree with this post. We're not talking about Raids or Dungeons here, or even anything close to End-game content - this is an item that was a main selling point, and should be made readily available to everyone to achieve. Some of the takes in the comments here are awful and once again show the Destiny community at it's "greatest". - LFG is extremely Hit-and-Miss. I've done a number of LFG's, met over hundreds of players, yet out of all the LFG's I only found three people respectable enough to continue playing with - the rest were disrespectful whiny tryhards that complained immediately if you weren't running a particular item or even for not playing a Hunter. - Comparing an item in Destiny 2 to a boss fight in another game... what? Two COMPLETELY separate articles that are unrelated in two completely different games with completely different mechanics & play styles. This is a poor take and irrelevant, and makes ZERO sense. - I work extremely weird hours myself on rotational RDO's mixing Day & Nights Shifts in the same week to the point I may not even get to sit at my computer for weeks at a time. Hell, I haven't gotten the new class item myself yet because of work. However, it is no excuse to put down other players and tell them they don't deserve anything. You have completely missed the mark on the aforementioned point. Grow up. - Not everyone is a top-tier "I can solo a whole raid flawless" player. While I agree in the case of End-game items such as GM Nightfalls, Trials, Dungeons, & Raids should remain behind those activities: This isn't an Endgame item nor remotely close to being one. It's misleading to use it as a selling point for all players. In conclusion; the Exotic class item was a primary selling point for Final Shape and the Echoes Seasonal activities. To lock it behind Multiplayer mechanics is a rather poor decision and once again leaves Solo-players out. For a game focused on including it's community as much as possible, it's a disappointing update.

My face when the massive multiplayer online game is multiplayer. All jokes aside, their is no excuse for being solo any more, in game LFG is a thing that i think alot of people forget exists, going solo in this game is now pretty much a challenge run on any content. When you get the chance i suggest you use the in game LFG, its pretty active and has lobbies for pretty much every activity.

I am a little surprised they made this the only exotic mission you can't solo. The whole light/dark reason is why, but they could have modified it so that it was beatable solo also, and solo stuff has been done in Prophecy and even the campaign with similar light/dark balance motifs. The earlier sections with the symbol reading could be changed so that you always start on reading the symbols, and then you swap light alignment for dark and shoot them; similarly the plates could have you just swapping buffs each time to get the next active. The section with the darkness switches you have to shoot might be a little more challenging to modify, but I was figuring that one buff would allow you to see the ones you need to shoot and the other would allow you to actually shoot them. The clock dial would be the most difficult to modify because it changes quite quickly, but I guess here the ideal solution would just be double the timer on the clock before it switches and allow solo players to shoot both sides.
