Bungie did a good job with Dawning, besides Eververse prices being a bit steep I think overall this year was a good event

only thing I like is farming xp and bright dust by baking cookies. all evas extra bounties are bake a cookie then deliver.

1 ReplyBefore people get angry with this post, just remember This is Bungie's Ideal customer. Be nice LOL
-
2 RepliesI think dawning is my favorite event because of how passive it is. There’s not one singular activity I need to farm or an armor set I need to wear. I just play the game and get extra festive rewards for doing so.
-
All they needed to do was give us pvp team scorched, but with snowballs. That's all we've ever wanted. But instead it's another bounty grind fest for mediocre rewards. Boo!
-
Yall really can't let someone enjoy something anymore, huh?
-
It's mostly the same as previous years, but I don't care. I like the weapons, I love throwing snowballs, there are some really nice new shaders, and I find it easy to pump up me Bright Dust through easy to finish bounties.

Edited by SirMang: 12/19/2022 10:45:45 PMI enjoyed it enough. Wasn’t groundbreaking but wasn’t awful either. Easy triumph seal and gild Nice fusion rifle reward to roll for 100 times if needed. Snowballs always amusing. Hoarfrost is straight fire

1 ReplyHuh? Obviously you work at Bungie. The Dawning "event" hasn't changed since D2 launched.

Boogers in my butt

My favorite part about the Dawning is how it is a passive event where you can just play whatever you want and get Seasonal rewards, much less tedious than something like Solstice where you have to grind out an activity that no one likes. I wouldn't necessarily say "Dawning is a W" because it really hasn't evolved in the past 7 years, in fact, you can argue it has significantly devolved with the removal of SRL and Exotic Weapon rewards. We do get to bake cookies now, but that hasn't changed for the past several years.

1 ReplyYou're their ideal customer lol

1 ReplyYou like baking and fast traveling for hours to different NPC to give them cookies? You got lost in a parallel dimension for the past 5y? Are you ok?
-
Baking cookies for the XX number of years in a row is fun? Ugh.
-
A post worthy of your namesake
-
They didn't make it miserably grindy at least. But it's still just copy-paste baking cookies like past events. "Good job" is too generous. More like "bearably adequate." Lol...
-
It’s one of the best events because it’s not asking you to farm anything specific
-
I have always liked the dawning since D1. It's a bit too much like Christmas in that all the old folks remember when it used to be special, and, it is now more expensive than ever before. But still my favorite event because I love this time of year.
-
Must be your first dawning, bc other than a few items, its the same copy pasted crap from 3 years ago, yes i still have by gear from the first dawning that theyre now selling for $15 lol lets not forget the $10 "event" card
-
It's pretty hard to fail this event. It is fun because at least snowballs are everywhere and bring fun to activities. Baking cookies is fun and just show how much crafting could be implemented more and still be revelant too. I enjoy dawning. At least it improves itself unlike the ... guardian games or 🤮 the festival of the cost. I too agree eververse is too damn agressive.

People on these forums aren't used to seeing positive opinions on the game.
-
This must be your first Dawning. They keep saying they'll do something then they don't. Come back after 2 more Dawnings.
-
4 RepliesIs this your first dawning?

Edited by Prissychick: 12/18/2022 11:51:26 PMAgreed! I love the Dawning!👍 Just wish there were more snowball opportunities.😁

Genuinely curious OP, how does it look so in your eyes? The only new things I’m seeing(in regards to last year) are one pulse, a new recipe and the cosmetics tied to Eververse and the encroaching(and quite unnecessary imo) Event Card.
-
Literally one of the most uninspired 'events' to be released in D2. At least in D1 it had some uniqueness.
