what was the point of killing ives as well, guy could be at the helm, kill him just for thunderlord was wrong.

I think ot has to do with a VA conflict. Ives and that guy with No Land Beyond in the EDZ (cant remember his name) share the exact same Voice Actor. And they sound identical.
