Re-purchase Destiny 1 for PS5

I bought the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition last month, and I would like to know if I have to buy a new copy of Destiny 1 as my copy is on disc?

Yes. The disc contains the game license to the base game. Without the license you will be stuck in the demo (trial mode) and any dlc you have will be useless.
