Guardians, a moment of your time.
So I have enjoyed Destiny since Beta D1. Great game and story. All of us have played the various classes and paths.
As of late I see the great split between you all that devote all waking hours to crucible and those who enjoy the story line. All are completely fine, its what we pay for.
My ask, my challenge to ALL Guardians, please please be respectful to other players. Some are work long hours and just wanna relax and play a bit. Some play nonstop, some are young kids getting a feel for the gamer world.
Can we please stop T Bagging and sending horrible chats? These can go to kids or players doing their best. A good laugh emote is hilarious, but cmon we gotta make this community strong, fun and welcoming.
All you Elitist’s, maybe set up your own channel or something. At least don’t bully other players. I’ve received several rude chats and messages. Show some respect. If you are a “Guardian”, maybe act like one…

There are also a larger set of "people" who come onto forums like this to spew the frankly absurd belief that there are life lessons to be learned in said games. It is the only thing they have in life that makes them feel any sense of accomplishment. As pathetic as that is, it is but a symptom of a society that has failed them. They will someday realize that being good at a game like D2 is meaningless IRL. There is a sadness attached to that realization that projects outwardly as toxicity.

Reminder...if anyone hits you with salt in PSN just report them to PSN. They'll likely get at least a warning...let 'em sit with their mishandled rage and control themselves a bit.

You stroke their ego if you give them attention. Anybody that bags is definitely trying to feed their ego and the only way to make them simmer down is to outplay them. Most players who bag anyways are usually getting carried by other players due to the neglect in lobby balancing and matchmaking or by Bungie through horrible decisions to keep the best options the best versus making most concepts viable.

1 ReplyAll such games breed toxicity as some people will always take them far too seriously and get angry if they feel you have let them down or aren’t pulling your weight. No it shouldn’t happen but making chat easier just encourages those who want to vent to have a go. I play to let off steam, to entertain myself, and try my best. If you are looking to run flawless or within a time it do A and B I suggest you back out if you see me on your team. I’m 56 and too old to allow myself to take this too seriously. I can only do my best anyway. But yeah, toxic behaviour should be called out. It’s just not necessary. See you in game, guardian!.

[/quote] I'm 45 years old and I've been a "gamer" since before Super Mario Brothers was a thing, let me tell you something, you're wasting your time with this. Any competitive environment brings out bad traits in people, but especially in gaming because there's some detachment and anonymity. It's just how it is. I'm not saying your motives aren't in the right place, but honestly, it's not going to change anything. What do you really hope to accomplish with this? As far as the "zomg the kids" thing? Meh, in my experience kids are the least civilized of the bunch lol.

7 RepliesT-bagging doesn't really bother me. You have to be pretty pathetic and insecure if the only way for you to feel good is by trying to make others feel bad. It's sad, because the people who get off on T-bagging probably were harassed themselves in life and feel the need to pass it down. Never got that 'in yo face, in yo face' mentality. It's like, really? The only way you can feel good about yourself is to try to make others feel bad?

2 RepliesAnyone who sends abuse by text is not concerned by the hours you’ve put in at work. I don’t think that’s how it works. Asking them to stop is also a big ask. Ignore them and report them is probably the only option. Although apart from teabagging I can’t recall ever receiving abuse from text in all my time playing.

Not much you can really do about it besides brush it off and have a good lol about it. I’ve had plenty of players talk trash to me only for them to end up bottom of the leaderboard. You just have to understand that anyone who sends you a DM is likely a huge loser in RL and just get a good laugh at their expense.

Perhaps you shouldn’t let it bother you. That’s truly the best revenge for being tbagged. I played iron banner a lot last night and got bagged a couple times. Just kinda audibly “wow” with my friend and forgot about it seconds later. I’m sure the bagger forgot about it soon after too. Who cares. You let it bother you like this, you’re giving them exactly what they wanted in getting under your skin. Congrats. Plus is it really that terrible? Sometimes I just laugh at it. Go do it back just for the laughs. Maybe you’ll make a friend even 😂

Seriously, people on this community actually need to embrace kindness and tolerance. This game is getting more and more elitist and much less friendly to new players and those with less time. Come on guys, why can’t you just be supporting to each other. Even if it is just a video game, the people behind the screens are still very real

TBH, I miss playing Socom 2 and MW where we would trash talk each other in the pre game lobby between games. So much fun. I was 12. That said, I've always seen bagging as a sign of disrespect. For instance, I'll bag people using cheese loadouts, as a sign of disrespect. Also, when I'm using cheese loadouts, I don't mind if people bag me. But when Both my teammates are dead and I 1v3 a team and they manage to kill me.... there's no need to bag. I just don't get it. However, that usually gets me in the zone and makes me play better, so there's that.

If you don’t like the game don’t play it instead of complaining, If the game isn’t right for you just play something else. Sometimes people say stuff not thinking about who’s reading it. 5 RepliesThe golden rule of T-bagging as I've always known it is to only bag if you get bagged first. Now some may bag after every kill while clutching their meta tryhard loadout just to get a rise out of you, and those players are just, well, doing their own thing. Now there are respectful baggings that are earned and honestly, you can't really get mad at anyone but yourself in that situation. Sometimes you're just so hyped up in the moment that mashing the crouch button is the only way to express your excitement. Some include: 1: coming back from a 0-4 in Trials only to win 5-4. Bag away, you've earned it. 2: Dueling a roaming super who is going absolutely bat shart insane trying to kill you and you end up punching them to death. 3: You clutch a win in any match where you are outnumbered say a 1v3, you deserve it. There are more but those are some of the ones I'd say should be respected as a well earned bagging.
