D2 armour is trash what happened to good looking armour like in d1 and age of triumph?
There isn't one full set that is nice. There's the odd pieces but it's all ugly as hell. Raid gear looks worse than blue gear, no armour has glows or chromas anymore. Nothing has a unique design that flows in its own set. The new season ornaments don't even flow or go together, the arms are different to the chest and the chest is a different design to the legs.
Whoever is designing armour is doing an awful job, bungie just pay for fan designs off the internet because they are doing far better than any of the artists you are hiring.
Please every single set is so bad.
I remember in d1 wanting to do raids for the armour now I couldn't care unless there's an op gun or decent gun. I don't even bother to do raids now.
Vow was interesting I actually expected decent armour for once but nope its all sea urchin crap. Iron banner is barnacles. Are you just starting to go into the sea for ideas now?
We use to get Egyptian themed, vex themed, hive themed, fallen/siva themed, knights, samurai, sci fi military, scavenger theme.
Now its reskin bland oversized unflowing junk.
Seriously with the amount you make from this game just spend a few pennies for some actual artists who like the game not random ones who don't even know the genre of the game.

Kings fall hunter was better. Kings fall titan was better. Ttk iron banner sets were better. Class items from speaker were better. Age of triumph ornaments were better. Rise of iron iron banner default and ornaments were better. New monarchy y1 was better. Dead orbit hunter, warlock year 1 was better. Exile was better. Rise of iron trials hunter and titan were better. Wrath hunter was better. Prodigal sets were better. Playstation exclusives like neuorghast were better. Crucible y1,2,3 were better. Vanguard y1 and ttk were better. Bog wild was better. Warlock ttk crow armour was better. Taken themed gear was better. Blue gear was better. Blue cloaks like shadowsmiths/jacks were better. Queens wrath gear was better. Iron banner vanilla was better.

I agree lot of the d2 warlock armor has no power fantasy look to it. Honestly looks like fortnite skins except for some that I like but even still I miss the look of the crota armor in d1.

They brought back prison of elders cloak But also made it have a old beat up look Why What person looks at clothes and thinks I wish it had dirt and grease on it

D1 was for gamers (aesthetics), d2 is for money. Results are clear.

Eh. The only sets i genuinely liked from D1 was Warlock from Crota's end and the hunter set from vaguard during taken king. The only armor i actually despised was WOTM. I dont need my character to look like a spike stud wristband that you can get at Hot Topic for $8.99. F*ck that.

Grasp of avarice and S1 iron banner titan set are awesome. Some of the eververse sets too, dragonfly regalia, abyss walker. Way better than anything in D1 imo

I would love so much to see more D1 armors come back. There are a lot of armors from D1 i would use right now, like Haliateus or the Year 2 Iron banner armor. I love D1 armor style in general, i like it a lot more than D2 style.

Destiny 1 definitely had better looking armor. Since the launch of Destiny 2 the devs at Bungie have been obsessed with large shoulder pads, pointy toed boots, odd themes, & warlock arm & leg armor have been replaced by the jacket ( in D1 the arms were the whole arm - not just the hand, & legs armor had design all the way to the hips - were as D2 is basically just the foot).

5 RepliesThat rosey tint in your glasses … . I can maybe recall one or two D1 armor pieces that I liked. It’s all subjective ofc. It’s true that the sets can be incongruous sometimes, but I kinda like mixing and matching to make my own. Also not everyone likes glows and chroma on their gear.

6 RepliesRose-tinted glasses, methinks. We're comparing the best sets from D1, like Age of Triumph ornaments, because those are the only ones that we remember. Do you fondly remember, say, the Year 2 New Monarchy armour or the Dark Below Crucible armour? A lot of those armour themes you mentioned are still in D2. In the case of Egyptian and Vex themed sets, there are sets from D1 that were simply put into D2 with no major alterations, if any.

The samurai armor wasn’t in D1, it’s in D2. There’s Knight armor in D2 as well. There’s significantly more glowing armor in D2 than D1. The new seasonal armor does indeed go together.

The pyramid/raid architecture and style are so cool. But they made the VotD armor just ugly and weird. Major disappointment.
