They’re useful.” As in your perfectly executed example, Bards make everything “artsy-fartsy” and longer than necessary. Just not practical on a battlefield.

Got any other personality traits besides "Old" and "Hates Bards?" Because that's just everyone I've ever met whose played older editions and it's becoming a tired cliche. There's like 3 of you lot down here alone.

I love the class, both in 5e and the other editions I play, although I’ll admit I rarely play them. The correlation between people hating bards and playing older editions tends to be more prevalent online I suppose.

I don’t understand the relationship between liking older editions and disliking bards. It’s something I see so often but cannot relate to. My group mostly plays older editions and we all like bards, they are on of my favorites. Then again, I don’t understand disliking a class. No one has given me a really valid reason to dislike one yet.

They really are. I have played some very unique ans cool bards over the years. Defiantly not my most played class, that would probably be mages, but they are one of my most played. Though that depends on what edition we are talking about. Still, they can be really cool with a good concept.
