PvE gets amazing buffs, while fundamentally pvp gets a bit of much needed balancing toward some good ole gun play fights. Everyone whi has played since D1 vanilla has always adapted through many eras of crucible. Soon we will have a new one, and im looking forward to it

The only reason I like destiny pvp is because of the abilities, the gunplay is okay. But now they are forcing us to a no ability meta and that where I am like welp I guess no more d2 pvp. There are better feeling gun play games out right now. So its destiny for pve and halo for pvp for me.

1 ReplyI agree with you. People are always gonna complain. After 7 years, they should know by now that Destiny will never stay the same forever. There will always be a different meta, and all you can do is adapt.

I still can’t quite understand the class envy. You can literally play any of them. It’s not hard to level all of them up, they can all use the same weapons etc. Think Hunters are overpowered? Play Hunter. I am equally rubbish on Hunter and Titan and slightly worse on Warlock which I just can’t get the hang of. Some seasons i main the PvE activities on Titan, sometimes Hunter. Whichever I pick doesn’t matter because they bore the f*** out of me after a few weeks and I go back to just PvP or the odd strike. I get bored playing one way. I swap weapons class and subclass continuously. It’s a great part of the game. I think some of the changes are interesting and very good. It looks like one objective is to limit supers to one per match of Quickplay PvP. I applaud this. I have always thought that two supers for almost every player (or even three for some) per quickplay match was a mess.

12 RepliesIt’s “more gunplay” which is dope and all… but unless you’re in low end lobbies gun play is already dominant. I’m afraid it’s gonna turn back into Year 1 levels of slow play with almost no chance of plays in the event you’re down a man.
-
7 RepliesIt’s because of the obvious bias towards hunters. -They have 2 supers in the 2nd tier while warlocks have one at the top and Titans have none. -they are gonna be the only class with one hit kill abilities (“but the grenade takes a long time to charge and the knife is hard to hit headshots” …. Shut up with that. We all know that with the proper mods, the recharge will be down to a minute and the knife has some of the highest aim assist) -stasis for hunter went untouched (not counting the much needed shatterdive nerf). Warlock super got shafted(again) and with the Crystal changes, behemoth is gonna suck even more Yes, I’m a titan main. Do I care for the changes? Not really (never used any of them that much anyways). But is it blatantly obvious that hunters are getting it good? Yep.

1 ReplyExactly, I was the best year 1 Destiny 2 PvP player and now I’ll get to relive that!
-
1 ReplyThats what people do when they have adaptation -100 and would rather complain then put in the time to get better
-
1 ReplyBecause we don’t want to play call of duty
-
12 RepliesWe are reverting to D2 year one. We all should know how that went.
-
Just remove hunters. It will make bungie cry.
-
3 RepliesBecause people liked their EZ ability spam. They can't handle the prospect of having to actually use your abilities *intelligently* instead of throwing them out all willy Billy the first chance they get. You see it every game, especially in 6v6. The first engagement, 5+ grenades are thrown. They can't handle having to actually aim, and learning what a gun is. I've literally played Iron Banner matches this year as an Arc Titan running Chaperone, where I literally didn't use my primary once, and still went 2.5, easy. That's inexcusable, and I'm glad something is being done.
-
The thing is, no amount of nerfs will make the crying and scrubs better. They will still be here crying, calling out nerfs to things they cant counter or have awareness.
-
5 RepliesThe community asks for stuff like this, they get it, and then they get mad and annoyed.
-
I'm with you on this, personally I can't wait PvP is ruined by the constant ohk spam of people using fast abilities and infinite special ammo. Wouldn't be so bad on a game with larger maps but on D2 it's game breaking It's not like there removing it all, just making it so that you need to be more strategic with their usage, But then I guess that will upset the ones using them for a crutch to get by with
-
They complain because they're ignorant and probably didn't even read-let alone understand the twab. You can tell this is the case when you read their braindead posts complaining about slippery slope BS.

Everyone whi has played since D1 vanilla has always adapted through many eras of crucible. Soon we will have a new one, and im looking forward to it
Just because people have adapted to something doesn’t mean they like it (and they didn’t adapt nor like it). No one asked for the class ability nerfs, or the SC nerfs, or the HHSN nerfs, or that stupid super tier list thing they got. Titans got by far the biggest shaft, so I’m probably bias, but I legit have nothing to look forward to for these changes. It’s outright making Bottom Tree Hammers the only viable option when you combine it with the S&S buffs. These changes never worked in Y1, and they certainly won’t work now. Not with the special weapon cheese. You though Fusions, LFR, and shotties were annoying before? Now watch as they become the only weapons in the game that can reliably kill. This game is going to get stale extremely quickly because they are going overboard with ability nerfs. Gunplay focus is great but when Destiny is focused on Gunplay it’s at its worse (just look at Y1). Sure the gunplay is good, but Halo’s is far better. These changes only give me more reason to just take a long break and play Halo:Infinite. There are only a few good things about these recent patch note releases. And this basically blanket nerf to almost every ability, whether it was actually OP or needed, is discouraging.

1 ReplyEdited by mayo68: 11/20/2021 12:02:27 PMMaybe because some of us know bungies history with changes… One change effects 5 different things that they haven’t anticipated. They never play test a flippin thing around here. It will take 12 months of patches to get the changes correct. I would have just like to see some tuning to certain broken aspects that we all knew were there. Shatter / dunes / tether / MMing / lobby balance An over correction is the LAST thing I want to deal with for the next year.😕

I think it’s partly that people are looking at the changes as individual nerfs rather than fundamental changes to ability strength. So they see that something they use is getting a nerf, and they think it’s unfair because they fail to take into account that it’s power relative to other abilities won’t change too much. There are definitely some things to be worried about, but I think it’s unreasonable to expect that it will be perfect right away anyway since it’s a complete overhaul to the ability sandbox. All the super changes seem good to me, and I can get behind the general philosophy they have with the ability changes, even though some of the individual changes don’t seem quite right. I hope that we won’t go too long before any immediate outliers are addressed, and that some of the abilities that seem to be hit really hard like shoulder charge will get some improvements pretty quickly.

Cos some ppl love to complain.
-
cuz this is what this forum and bad players do, cry for no reason
-
Because people will never be satisfied.

5 RepliesI don’t think any calls longer cool downs a buff. This downplaying abilities was done before and it failed. So much so they had to spend considerable time and effort to undo it. I don’t care about pvp, it’s a pipe dream thinking it’ll be balanced. I dislike pve getting shafted over pvp. This is now the third time abilities have been shafted in D2. Base, SK and now.

Hell yes!
