If I didn't have a decent PC I'd be stoked.
... but I do... so...
... yeah... a feature that I might use 1% of the time (portability) doesn't justify $400 (plus the cost of memory expansion) for me.

That said, I like the concept. Had the new Switch model been this, I'd be all over it (again though, only because I don't already have a Switch).
If I didn't have a decent PC I'd be stoked. ... but I do... so...
I have friends with a decent PC as well but they’re still getting this. I may get this cause I don’t have a PC and thinking of selling my Switch for $800 bucks. (I have the Diablo 3 Limited Edition Switch which is going for that price) but like others are saying, I wanna wait for reviews to see how it performs before I buy. Cause if it’s everything the marketing is saying it is, then I’m in, I’ll buy it, wipe Linix, install Windows, install The Old Republic and go to town on that bad boy.

For me, the only thing I'd be getting out of it is the portability. Given that I could be playing on higher settings on the PC, it's not a feature I'd be using much. Just not worth the price for me.

Since the SD has the capability to play on High Setting, then I’m all for getting it cause High Settings is nice… Ultra Settings is just excessive lmao!!

It depends on the game. I wouldn't be able to play Cyberpunk on ultra settings but it's more than adequate for the vast majority of my library. As for the SteamDeck, may want to check your expectations.
“For the total APU combined power, it's about two teraflops,” Griffais said, “which should let people play the games that they have in their library without issues at 720p and provides lots of horsepower to that effect.” Since it targets a 720p resolution – more than enough for its 7-inch screen – it’s able to play current PC games at medium to high settings with smooth framerates. https://www.ign.com/articles/steam-deck-hands-on-impressions-details-valve-handheld-gaming-pc
I would trust Linus Tech Guys on YouTube. They have a video up who talks about the Steam Deck and he seems to think it’s a pretty solid system with its components etc.

He points out it's 720p and he's cool with that. He also explicitly states it's not for everyone. I said I like the concept, it's just not for me as the value I'd personally get out of it isn't worth the price to me. As I said, if I didn't already have my bases covered, I'd be all over it.

But for me I think it’s worth it cause I can’t afford 1,000s of Dollars for a Gaming PC at the moment for $600 for a 512GB hard drive is a fair price for a gaming PC handheld. And quite honestly, I would just play Star Wars The Old Republic on it and that seems like the Steam Deck can handle it. And 720p is still good.

If you're running indie and or older games it'll do great. Given that a lot of newer AAA games wouldn't even fit on the base model, I think that's really the market it's designed for.

They’re saying that it can run any and ALL PC games that you can run on a current Gaming PC. Which means Destiny, Apex, Halo Infinite etc. can all run on it. But they could be saying that for marketing purposes, but we won’t know for sure until people have their hands on it to know for certain. Cause if it’s as you say and are only for indie games, then I’ll most likely get a regular ole PC. Edit: The only issue people would have with the newer games would be battery usage. Which would be an issue if you dock it and use a monitor and hook up you’re keyboard and mouse to it and play.

"Can run" is extremely vague. the PS4 could "run" Cyberpunk. The question is how well and on what settings. Might want to take any hype with a grain of salt. It's trendy now to overhyped things then burn them at the stake when they don't meet expectations. But like you said, we'll have to wait and see. Maybe it'll surprise us.
