in crucible/PVP, it would provide an advantage by, ironically, masking an individual's otherwise immediately identifiable exotic ability, aka they can hide things like helm of saint 14 helmet to make bubble's surprise blind, or other useful tells like 1-eyed mask, worm-husk crown, etc.

I mean, what arrow said. Could easily make it so you cant take off exotic helmets too. Or make it so in crucible it's always on regardless but in pve you can have it off. Lots of super easy workarounds. Like, SUPER ABSURDLY EASY workarounds.
-
What if it were just an universal ornament? Then it would only be available on legendaries. But without character customization available, who would actually want to show their face.
Unless your an Exo of course.
-
THIS is a good workaround!

If RuneScape can keep transmog/cosmetics from complicating PvP, Destiny can. I wish you could transmog legendaries into exotics and vice versa.
-
did runescape have iconic gear that changed the nature of gameplay? no sarcasm, actual question, because, again, the nature of exotics strongly deters "transmog" on them. the universal ornament/legendaries only idea is a good one, as it circumvents the exotic issue.
-
It’s a stupid idea for PvE because it doesn’t matter if you know who has what just based on visuals.
-
how is that stupid? if anything, its a point FOR this idea, because like you said, it doesnt matter if you know/dont what exotic helmets your allies are using, therefore, its not a problem to (cosmetically) remove your helmet in PVE activities.
-
Cosmetic restrictions are stupid, is my point.
-
I mean Why the -blam!- are you going inside a Titan bubble in the FIRST place? You dont challenge that shit At ALL
-
I mean, like, if you got a sunbracers solar grenade and a rapid shotty, or LoW, you can. also, its one of many examples.
-
I agree with that, but make it possible in PvE at least.
