It's kinda difficult The original dredgens were made by Shin malphur and his closest allies to lure out Guardians who would use the light for evil and eventually kill em all in one go The dredgens at their core are not evil, but the ones that weren't the original few were Unfortunately the dredgens are kinda extinct now. I didn't like how the story developed but there nothing you can do
Drifter gave out dredgen titles cuz he was working with Shin. He would give Guardians who looked like they were secretly dangerous the title so that eventually shin could kill them. At least that's what I understand
• Ohhh ok, yeah that makes a lot of sense and helps a lot actually. I'm basically just trying to figure out if my Guardian in lore would want the dredgen title since he likes Drifter and Gambit and that whole underground community a lot, but I don't think he'd want to be a potential target for Shin so prob not

 • Well! You don't have to worry about that The name dredgen is now absolutely meaningless. Shin already killed all the evil dredgens In lore he actually sends you letters about how cool you are and how you've impressed him! He basically calls you the future of our species etc. Etc. And to never give up hope. I reccomend reading "letters from a renegade" and "nothing ends", those are the communications between you and Shin
