I've heard this for years on the forums that D1 is better than D2. So after getting into D2 I thought I would go back and try D1. Lore and story and missed raids makes it all worth while. BUT come on.... D1 is not even close to as good as D2. I think nostalgia is fooling most of you. Not in one category can I say I would want it to be like D1 again.... Maybe I need to give it more time but feels like I'm on my ps3.. Very cool game, but once I've done all the story and raids I ain't gonna ever go back....

5 RepliesRaids were better. Heroic Strikes. Strike specific loot. Primary element weapons. More crucible maps. Better armour. I could go on, but let's just say you are probably wrong.

3 RepliesBetter Subclass customization Bounties without an expiration timer Being able to replay all story missions with a difficulty option Strike and Nightfall modifiers variety (side note, this week the NF has Rainbow Burn AND Daybreak. This is what is missing in Destiny 2 where a player can just go ape-shit crazy and have blast) The ability to pick the type of rank-up package from factions Armsday Weekly vendor stock refreshes Special and Heavy weapons can roll with different elemental damage Primary Weapons having Firefly Rocket Launchers can hold more than one rocket in the tube Gear required to be leveled up Sparrow horns Three of Coins Horde like activities (PoE, Court of Oryx and Archon's Forge) that have their own loot pool

2 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 2/5/2021 1:36:54 PMD1 had... Rotating vendors every expansion. Gunsmith packages. Factions. Skeleton keys to farm for specific strike exclusive guns/armor. Many new weapons to make up for sunsetting. Customizable skill trees for ALL subclasses. Shaders that you could swap infinitely without having to re-buy them. Glowing shaders. Sparrow Racing. ... and a bunch of other things inexplicably missing from D2. It's not "nostalgia". There are many, MANY things that D1 did better in its prime.

It was an experience mostly. Not a lot to do on there right now but playing while it was still being worked on was great.

Prefer D1 for skill tree, supersn certain exotics, game modes like Court of Oryx, faction vendors, there's alot of features that I'd say were better, but D2 runs better I guess.
