I'm mute person , and i did raid only once (levitation) because there is that 0.1% nice people. Since then I stopped begging people for letting me in raids , I can understand the mechanics of every raid ,but it doesn't matter to them if I cant speak I'm not allowed .
Will this game make normal raids with normal machmaking system like the division 2 raids where the mechanics u understandable for all players ,and you don't have to be on mic and discord , and all that bs
So other people with disabilities play full game ?

Division 2 raids are just strikes in Destiny tbh...

Checkout GsxrClyde on twitch. He takes players through raids all the time and I’ve seen him help handicapped people many times. I’m sure there are others as well.
-
I helped a legally blind person back in D1 do Kings Fall. Took us a while but he had a friggin blast and now he's one of my best friends. Unfortunately he can't play raids anymore due to his eyesight getting worse but we still humor each other in the strike playlist just screwing around from time to time.

Ur on pc, u have the ability to type in text chat to ur teammates
-
I got a clan that usually places me on easy stuff and I just stay mute due to my headset being garbage. If you were on xbox I'd try to help.
-
I remember helping people with Skolas in PoE back in D1 for moments of triumph. Had a dude come in without a mic. We said he’d dance when his poison timer was almost up. Actually worked like a charm.

I understand your concern but matchmaking for a raid that requires call outs and objectives would be a nightmare experience over 50% of the time. There are a couple of emotes in the game that could substitute call outs, the "over here, im open" emote for instance but communication is very important in complex raid objectives. Maybe Bungie could add a few more helpful communication emotes....?
-
I'm sorry to hear that. But Bungie has a high priority to have raid success depend on communication. It's nothing impossible though you can find ways to communicate while being mute, download discord on your phone and make call outs by posting specific emojis. Just get creative and find people that are ready to do it with you. You can't expect everyone to try it out with you though, since they aren't forced to help you. It's unfair but nobody has the right to force other people to help them.

3 RepliesYou aren't entitled to anyone's help, get over yourself.

1 ReplyHave done a GoS not saying a thing to my team. They forgot to invite me to the discord lol. Didn't realize until the final encounter. Beat it fine. Just make sure to call out in text chat the voiceless roles.
-
The problem is that most raids have a mechanic that you need to call out on. There are ways around it but most of the random people on lfg aren't willing to do it. But same time a lot of the mechanics are easy enough that you don't need a call out for. So its also a community issue too

I have a friend who I play with on a consistent basis. He can talk, he just doesn't because he has social anxiety. He uses emotes/teabags as indicators. I've done many raids with him. It's all about knowing what job to assign someone who can't speak. As for adding matchmaking to raids: it would never work. Just load into any strike, Crucible match, or Gambit match. Pay attention to how many people AFK, rage quit, or lag around. Go into the Nightfall: Ordeal playlist. Inspect your teammates' loadouts and make note of how many people don't run the mods they're supposed to. Now, picture having to be stuck in a hefty, endgame, mechanic-based activity with groups of people like that. It would be miserable.
-
Been raiding with a friend that cannot talk. Said friend is better at the game than most i've seen so its not an issue. Gotta find a steady group like the one im in. PS4 if you're wondering. But we are out here...

Yes, blame the world for a lack of accomplishment in a video game. Sounds good.

3 RepliesOh come on, i spent so many hours with -blam!- in raids, it sure counrs as helping players with disabilities. (Ok this was a joke now lets get serious) You dont have to speak in most raids. You mostly have to listen. I cant think of a single raid where you HAVE to speak. There is always that one role where speaking is useless. (Okay maybe the gauntlet on lev but there is ways to do it 100% mute lol) But you point something right : Players dont wanna bother, they just wanna go trough everything asap and leave. Just like...if the game was so horrible that they HAVE to get things done quickly without any entertainement..(looking at you netlimiter users) But at this point...why playing.. My most memorablr raids were with players discovering, spending times doing mistakes..doing funny builds and challenges...i made tons of friends in those long and difficult raids XD. Sure i have the knowledge and i can get a raid done insanely fast...but...why ? Why would i rush an activity that i just do for fun ? Lately ive been raiding with friends, we are doing challenges when it comes to the weapons...we do the raid funny challenges...we laugh, we cause whipes because some of us are stupid xD...we spend more times trying to kill our mates than doing the strat... Having good times... Im sad for what happened to this community. Almost nobody likes to play anymore..

1 ReplyI doubt that can be possible, raids are designed for players to constantly communicate. Unless you are on pc and are a fast typer then idk what else to tell you, you really aren’t missing out much to be honest. Raids in D2 are nowhere near as good as the D1 raids, D2 raids are more sweaty and boring. I have being able to complete only one raid on D2 because I just get so bored constantly hearing players communicating. D1 raids were far more enjoyable, way more laud back, if one player died, it was not the end of the world, your team could still carry and communication wasn’t the only way to beat the raids.

I feels this as a few months ago I taught a def person how to do gos. It was painful explains in chat but to be fair they weren’t terrible. It took us 4 hours but teaching a def person gos is probably my biggest feat in all of destiny.

Bungie has no Talent ! I’m a Tiny Brain smash the thing if it doesn’t work right kinda Guy . And even I can come up with the idea of breaking the raids up into manageable , Queable pieces . Instead of one huge 5 hour raid , 5 Smaller modules that can be Qued for with randoms . Ea with its own Boss and Mechanics then you beat that section then leave and reque for the next part until you complete the entire raid . Just give ea Module a loot once a week chest mechanic . Then you can go back in and help friends or just for practice/xp and don’t have to stay for 5 hours .

My best advice is to find a clan that is willing to help you despite your disability. If you make a post on here, I’m sure you’ll get some offers.

If not, find a new clan. Our clan has a member with a disability that makes raiding equally difficult as it is for you. They have completed raids with the help of our clan mates and discord. The community is nice, but they don’t exist to help you succeed, you need to take personal responsibility for that.

I honestly never wanted to play with other people online. I played countless hours of Halo games, and just wanted to play the next Bungie shooter. I was dismayed to find I had to be online to play Destiny. But in the first week, I met a cool player while running strikes, and we wound up playing together every night for the first year and a half of D1. I've never used a mic. I eventually got a USB keyboard so I could type messages to him, when he started using a mic. Later on, I met his friends and co-workers, and we formed a clan. I've never lfg'ed to raid, never wanted to run into people complaining about my lack of a mic, but I felt comfortable enough with friends to run raids, knowing that they wouldn't berate me for making a mistake or for not being able to make a call out. Through my clan I wound up meeting a raid team, and we ran over 90 King's Fall hard mode completions. Once they could see that I was a good player, there was never any question about me not using a mic. In D2, I joined up with an amazing raid team and joined a clan with them. We ran a Petra's run and had a week one Crown of Sorrows finish. I guess what I'm saying is that if you can find friends, people you're comfortable playing with, then even without speaking, the sky is the limit. Of course there are some things I'm limited with- like callouts at the Vault in Last Wish, but most things are easily done without a mic, for example even Queenswalk in Last Wish, or running the Gauntlet in Leviathan.

Damm shame that others haven't tried to help. I personally like teaching raids, I can teach you any of them if you would like.
-
I'm afraid that a lot of Raids require communication to complete them and unfortunately your disability prevents that. There are a few raids that could still be done with you on an ad clearance role or something, but I've heard a few of the new ones really require all 6 players communicating which would be difficult. Unfortunately your only option would be to keep trying in the raids that are possible with a member not using a mic until eventually you find a team that aren't overly painful about it. Good luck.
-
Raids requiring communication and teamwork are probably the only thing that sets Destiny apart from its competition. The Division 1 and 2’s endgame is painfully boring and only made challenging by giving enemies the ability to kill you in a single shot, it’s arbitrary. Surely there is a way you can get a keyboard hooked up to communicate or WhatsApp or something. I feel for you mate but raids (the more challenging the better) are one of the only things holding Destiny together right now, so I really hope they don’t make them so easy, that six people can do them without even having to speak!
-
2 RepliesYou can always join a clan for people like you. And raids are possible with no communication. Prestige Leviathan was beat by this one team with no coms or HUD.
-
Raids are challenging activities that require communication more than anything else. I am sorry that you have to deal with it but having a raid group with someone who doesn't talk is much more difficult than a team or newbies who have never done the raid and only watched a video. I know because I have had to help some of these newbies in the past and have had several people in raids who didn't talk. Raid a need communication or they won't be completed. Seriously I am sorry to hear you've been struggling but you have to understand with your disability... Its doable but not with the average players just wanting to get the raids done.
