Yes and no, don't forget they added 3rd person for swords, supers, orb mechanics and the tower. So having the option to toggle between perspectives for the next game would be nice change to game play. It doesn't have to replace 1st person at all, which I love.

None of those things you mentioned are guns. While you’re shooting, it should be in first person. Because........ then it wouldn’t be a FPS lol. This game already has an identity crisis as it is.

No they aren't gun, but being able to shoot them over the shoulder would be exciting. And the game itself doesn't have that problem, destiny is a well known game but bungie isn't shy from trying now ideas to change up the game for the community (:
