  • thing is; non of the Nine inherently worship the darkness or actually align themselves with it.

  • <But would any of the Nine choose the Darkness? Would the Five choosing Light as their primary method of getting out of things be something born of want or naivete? Would the Four choosing to move as far away from the others be born out of experience or something else? The problem is that the latter group hates us and the former wants us to stay close, but why? The Five have been known to take the wills of other people (yet their original identities still lie in that dark matter dimension or whatever Lavinia walked into) and they straight up OWN a subsect of humanity that can't even be near Light without being in pain. They also control the bodies of 9 of various entities on occasion, like the 9 Ghosts Orin met, or the 9 [War]minds, the 9 missing OG Awoken. Those entities still exist, but given that we saw those 9 Ghosts in the second Invitation spread out between multiple people. And yet they hate the Hive... Everyone seems to hate the Hive, but why? It seems obvious to many, they kill everything. However, what if there's more to it? What if they're keeping us close for the Dark? What if a deal has been made. Once more I bring you back to the original Grimoire about the Nine, and all of those 9 "theories", almost all of which have been confirmed in some way. Of course... with the exception of "aspects of the Darkness". The Darkness, need I remind you, doesn't seem to care about the Hive outside of Oryx. Literally all of humanity and the Vex are put on a pedestal above them. Perhaps they're just a nuisance to the fleet. OK, so what would the plan be? Group everyone together and get little favors here and there in preparation for the Collapse. When the Darkness comes back, it will take the Light FOR THEM, and grant them power. Of course, this won't likely be the case, and what'll probably happen is the Darkness will just kill them. The Nine come up with some surprisingly complex stuff, given the lack of knowledge of emotion or any other complex mental energy. Well, I just made an argument about why the Five might "choose the Dark", but what about the Four? They hate us, they want to be alone, and only rely on the Light like the Five because they have to. They are rushing to get things to work because they know the Dark will kill us all, or at least remove the Light. So do they hate us genuinely because we're dumb and they don't want to be restricted to our feeble mortal forms? Say they did get buddy-buddy with the Dark, then what would their plan be? Hide their presence as they enter the system? That's not going to be as easy, considering the sheer power the Darkness spills out as well as the dominant presence. Perhaps they just want the Light gone so that the Nine could start over, united now that their reason for conflict is gone. Yet they called the Five "fools" so maybe it's not as simple. I don't know, -blam!- I actually came here to make an argument for both sides but it's getting harder to get on the Four because I don't know anything about them. I mean, the -blam!-ing DARKNESS likes us, our ACTUAL ENEMY puts US on the same level as ORYX. We're one level of "I give a -blam!- about you" away from the goddamned Armada that escorts the Winnower around. This would be so much easier if we knew which faction that member of the Nine that hid Ghaul's approach belonged to.>
