That's an interesting theory. I have to sit and read more of the lore, but from what i read, i thought the 9 were created when the light and darkness battled. The same battle that created the awoken. I thought that the 9 members that didnt become the awoken race, were the 9. Are you saying those members became planets? (in your example of course). To answer your question using the planets: i think the 5 are mercury, venus, earth, mars and jupiter; and the 4 are saturn, neptune, uranus, and pluto (yes, i still call pluto a planet damnit lol)). I think the sun represents 'the light', and that on the other side of pluto represents 'the darkness'. Those closest to the sun aka light, want to use/study it. Like you said: once it goes through its later life stages, it will kill them, so they would want to know how to be reborn. Those furthest away from it dont care about it, hence the reason they put faith in darkness. The light doesnt reach/affect them, so they dont care. Since jupiter is in the middle and the largest, i think it is the cut off point for the light. It blocks the light from the other 4 so to speak. Think that's why Shuro Chi references it in the lore. Now that i think, using pluto in the example makes even more sense. I say that cause it's the furthest from the light, sees nothing but darkness, and basically has been forgotten/ignored. It would make sense that pluto was the one that allowed the cabal in the system, and as punishment for it, it has been 'demoted' from planet status for now. It's still a member of the 9, just the lowest of the low, given it even more reason to want revenge on 'the light'.
