I feel like the only people that use military time, use military time so they can tell you about how they use military time.

Edited by Caggus: 12/13/2019 12:38:20 AMIn EU, everything time wise in terms of filling out forms or working and shit is done with Military Time so I’m kinda just used to doing it. I do like to say AM or PM when I’m actually speaking but because I always write in military, that’s just what’s in my head when I type. Anyone who actually says “1600 hours” out loud is an asshole, plain and simple.

I have to use military time. My DOT logs have to be in military time, my time card is done in it, all the clocks at work are in military time, my family that served/serving use it, but I always end up apologizing & converting to regular time for everyone else, because it is such a big part of my life.
-
Well see, that's a good reason for why you use it. I also imagine you don't sing the praises of military time whenever the oppurtunity arises, because you're a resonable person.
-
No, I don't. I usually feel stupid & irritated that I didn't think to convert it in advance, lol. But, I do enjoy saying things like, "Zero dark thirty" to my son. He thinks it is cool & thinks I sound cool. His Uncle, who is currently serving, he gives me phrases to use to make my son happy, lol.
-
Ok, sorry
-
If you use it for convenience, it's fine. But don't make it your most important, always-needs-to-be-mentioned personality trait. Nobody cares.

Not even my military friends use military time when they're not doing military stuff.
-
One of my friends uses military time, and every god damn time I'm like "so we're meeting up at 6:00PM" he's like "hurr don't you mean 1800hrs." He's not even in the military, just a chem major. Like -blam!- off. Honestly. No one thinks you're special because you use military time.

Sounds like you just need better friends tbh.
-
I mean, you still felt the need to mention that you use military time, so you've been busted.
I mean, you still felt the need to mention that you use military time, so you've been busted.
How so? You just told me you’re not smart enough to use military time, so I guess you’re busted too, boomer.

It was a joke, friend. But I mean, if you're serious... kind of proving my point.
It was a joke, friend. But I mean, if you're serious... kind of proving my point.
Really? It sounded to me like you were talking about your “friend” with extreme vitriol. Like you were assmad or something.

I was expressing annoyance over someone's need to remind everyone who uses a different time. This was done with hyperbole, for comedic reasons. The comment I made about you specifically where I basically said "ah ha, you revealed yourself through blunder and have thus proven my point" was strictly a joke.
