Make all forges accessible all of the time
[EDITS BELOW]
First up - the new node added with shadowkeep in the EDZ to launch forges from orbit is GREAT. Saves so much time if you want to do some bounties, overall a brilliant idea.
However, if you need to access a specific forge for a quest (Izanagi's Burden, Niobe Labs) then you sometimes have to wait weeks to access the right forge and if you forget or can't that week, you have to wait another 4 weeks.
So, it would be great if we could still access any forge we like at any time. Whether you do this by making all forges available from free roam again or (probably the best way to do it) put a mini menu on the forge node like the selectors for nightfalls etc. that lets you choose exactly which forge you want to complete. Either would be great.

[EDIT] Thanks to 'Chief Bill 13' and 'VikingWally69' in the comments. I was incorrect to say forges rotated weekly, they do indeed rotate daily. With this in mind my suggestions above are definitely not as vital as I first made them out to be - my bad. Being able to choose any at anytime could still be a nice change at some point but I definitely and whole-heartedly appreciate Bungie has bigger fish to fry. Thanks again Bungie + community :)
[EDIT 2] After an awesome discussion with 'icetea07' in the comments where they brought up the point that making [i]all[/i] forges open to matchmaking [i]all[/i] the time could have a negative effect on players (i.e. loading times), we came to a good conclusion. The best way to implement a change could be to keep the daily rotator as it is now and then make the rest of the forges available all the time with matchmaking turned off. This way, players can always access a specific forge if they need to while players who don't need a specific forge can quickly and easily enter the activity. Another example of how utterly brilliant this community is!!

108 RepliesHey all, Having the forges all collapsed into a single playlist helps matchmaking times - with all players on one node, you won't have to wait to be matchmade (or go in alone) We'll continue to monitor feedback over how Black Armory content could be improved, forge rotations included!

I think they should leave forge rotation the way it is, to help with matchmaking. They just need to completely change these forge exotic bounties though and not require specific forge completions. Or they could just make the forges random every time you load into it, but that would result in a lot of joining in and quitting out of players who are trying to find the one they need

2 RepliesAfter your edit...I still like the daily for one reason. It puts everyone in the same playlist. So matchmaking is quicker. The ones that need the forge are there and the ones just needing to do bounties or just want to run forged are now all placed together. Just my 3 cents it would be nice to pick one when you need it, but for EVERYONE as a whole this might be the best of bad choices.

The current daily rotation is better bc it makes it more likely to have a full team now and in the future when player activity calms down.

Edited by Rogue: 11/20/2019 9:29:26 AMEven with there only being one available per day, I am frequently loading into games by myself. Having all forges active would make this issue much, much worse. I think it should stay as is, but that we shouldn’t have to return to Ada before a forge ignition.

1 ReplyI've still been doing a TON of frames lately. After completing my 100 frames now I'm still doing them sometimes or some dumb reason. Anyway, from what I've seen they're doing a great job rotating the forges. It seems like it might not quite rotate through each one every 4 days but overall it's been a great rotation. And I say might not quite rotate all 4 because at times I feel Izamani Forge takes more than every 4th day but I might just not be paying enough attention. If it is on a 4 day rotation I see no problem with it. Yes it sucks you have to wait a couple days but we had to wait weeks for Shattered Throne to be available when doing Izanagis Burden. Now the Shattered Throne is available 24/7. 2 cents

What about Worldline Zero catalyst where you have to wait 5 weeks for getting each step done? What about Raid Challenges where you have to wait 3-5 weeks for getting each one done? What about needing to wait weeks before the right Nightfall drops to get BrayTech Osprey and Horror's Least weapons? What about needing to wait 33 weeks before getting the entire Truth to Power lore book complete. All of these are tied to triumphs/seals in the game. In fact, all Seals (except for Dredgen) currently have some level of time-gating for getting all triumphs done, anywhere from 3 to 33 weeks. Are we seriously complaining about needing to wait 3-4 days to get a quest step done? Look, I'm all for more accessibility in activities, part of what makes games like Destiny great, but I would much rather have better load times for old activities. If it were not a single playlist, good luck finding people that want to do the Gofannon forge.

We signed that slimy agreement that says, "What you pay is fixed. What give is variable. Blah blah blah, we dgaf. " So basically they dont care that you already paid for it, because they can legally say they aren't responsible for giving you specific content, even though that specific content is what they used to market the expansion. Again, legally it isn't false advertising becaus the exact scenes they presented can still happen... Bungie does alot of technically legal stuff, that really is just an excuse to be a slimeball. Bungie is the Drifter of gaming companies. That said, the new design is pretty dumb. No one even plays the forges now, because you cant get the weapon you want done, when you want it, so it's almost always faster to go to a different activity and get a similar weapon. If this way was defensible you'd not be dropping players so fast.

1 ReplyThey need to rework the amount of time it takes to forge a black armoury weapon. Having to do quest steps to then visit ada to then do the the forge for one weapon is extremely time consuming

1 ReplyI totally get where your coming from. However, tonight I kinda had to do Gofannon which I really dislike, so I set a load out I haven't used for a while. And it was kinda fun tbh. While I agree choice is King, sometimes it's ok to be out of your box. Jus an imo, no hate 👍

1 ReplyIf they made so you could select the forge, nobody would ever choose to do the Bergusia Forge. The Black Recluse Fallen Walker is literally the only forge boss that people have trouble killing.

3 RepliesI think the lack of players playing forces makes having only one forge easier for matchmaking. It was getting stupid how often I wouldn’t find anyone in matchmaking or would fly in at the end of a forge

If they add a chance for curated drops in every rotation and not just bergusia I would be fine with it. I’m not running forges much anymore tho because I have literally everything I want from them.
