I have it. Nerf is a strong word, but it essentially outclasses every other SMG in my inventory besides my ones with Demolitionist.

I have mixed feelings. In (console) PvP it is not even OP. I did good with hero’s burden and subjunctive in IB and never had an issue against recluse when master of arms isn’t procced. But in PvE... it kind of makes anything else not as efficient. Mixed feeling comes from that if it is nerfed, how? Should everything in this game ne exactly the same for DPS (i.e. Nothing is good, nothing is bad, nothing feels nothing.. that can’t be good either). Would it work to give rotating bi-weekly boost to specific weapons that are not meta? Like 10% boost to weapon damage for all archetypes that are sitting at the bottom of meta? This would also make grinding more meaningful and maybe someone would actually use sidearms and swords for fun. This way nothing would have to be nerfed and made pointless and forgotten.

11 RepliesCant believe the ammount of salty people crying about recluse because they die to it in pvp. Again PVP is gonna get a gun destroyed. The gun is literally only an issue on PC in PVP. On console it doesnt map, it shakes a lot so it aint a laser. But sure lets nerf it so that the PC PVP players stop complaining.

I used recluse one time on ps4 "console" and thought it was pretty bad, imo they should buff it. :D I use Lunas howl and Vigilance wing, its a mad combo, I switch for Vigilance Wing for range. :) Rocket launchers is what destroys crucible imo. I want a hand cannon only crucible, but my fear would be everyone running around with ace of spades in such a case. crucible is a mess thats for sure but I do enjoy it from time to time.

The argument is that its basically required for a World's First run simply for the sake of efficiency. It's hardly a threat in this PvP meta. My only personal problem is that I have no real reason to grind more endgame weapons. I have access to all the best mathematically balanced weaponry already so why bother? I just make builds around what I happen to recieve and play that when I'm bored. I mean, if they really wanted to solve all problems, just make them only usable in the activities they're from. No more Recluse in PvE. Problem solved. And they can rebalance it strictly for PvP.

3 RepliesI'm not the best at PvP, I get killed Recluse. I don't have it but I do run crucible with my Hero's Burden. If I go one on one with it against Recluse I have a success rate of 50-50 so cant complain. Just leave it alone it is a pinnacle weapon. Wat should be addressed is the fake Non pinnacle weapons like Erentils and Dust Rocks/Mindbenders these are just standard legendary weapons that are way OP.

well if this isn't the forum discourse in a nutshell. There are hundreds of comments here demanding that Bungie does not nerf the gun, and yet this post has hundreds of downvotes, showing more players are ok with seeing the gun tuned.

Haven't done much crucible since it became the defacto face stomp weapon that you can't get because when you do competitive you are beaten down with the very same weapon.

3 RepliesMy only problem with it is that nothing even comes close in PVE. I just grinded for a Gnawing Hunger to replace it (wanted demolitionist for my sweet void lock build), but it doesnt even come close to recluse. The recluse DPS is better at almost any range than an AR not even counting the perk. I've got a lot of use out of my Recluse and got it a couple seasons ago and still think it's a bit much in PVE. I think it's fine in PVP though, it certainly doesnt really dominate.

It’s not recluse, it’s the combo of it with mountaintop w/ quick access sling. Make mountaintop not able to equip this mod and this combo will be used a lot less.
