This has been consistently ignored. The fire team vs randoms is obnoxious and could simply be stopped.

7 RepliesThey'll never fix it. They designed it so the best players always get the easy matches. They did this because YouTube and streamers complained about not being able to make clips and upload highlights, so they purposely matchmake the best against the worst.
-
1 ReplyI agree, SBMM Must return

6 RepliesYou cannot fix this unless you made a separate queue which would be completely dumb. Going in as a fireteam is an advantage and one that is a choice just like going in solo is. I fear if people keep preaching this -blam!- ass rhetoric you won't even be able to group up anymore all because of people who solo. I've ran solo plenty of times and mopped up 4 stacks and above plenty of times its an advantage but not impossible unless its a stack team running the sweat pack and even than if what i hear is true paid Luna/NF will always lose to skill everytime. You can buy a gun but you can never buy skill. Going in solo is a risk you take especially with how the meta is its better to stack but most of the solo edgelords don't want that and thats cool but don't act like thats an issue when that is a choice and like all choices they are either good or bad.

For quickplay it should be addressed. But for comp. No.

1 ReplyEdited by Sunder: 4/8/2019 10:33:33 PMSorry, one thing I will add: People complaining about aspects of the game is a good thing. It means there are substantial aspects of the game which are still loved, and people are fighting to change the bits that are ruining their experience. If the game was a total loss, people would just walk away and find something else to do. So don't whine about the whiners. They care enough about the game to want to see improvements. And don't whine about people who want to keep the status quo. They are really just fighting to keep the game the way they want it too, but because the game is already how they like it, they don't come across as whining. Change it, and some will adapt to the new balance, and some will whine as well.

I've given up on PVP. I probably will give up on the game soon, depends on what my friends think. I'll play as long as they play, but I'm out of good PvE content, and not enjoying Season of the Drifter. There's a lot of knee jerk "If you don't like it, it must mean you're bad at PVP". I admit, I was never good at Crucible, but at Gambit, I was almost always top player by kills/motes, and held my own against invaders/invading. Back then, a stack was just a harder fight, now, with the specialised roles, and the specialist PvP weapons, there's just no point. I emptied out a a clip of Trackless Waste at close range, pretty much every bullet hit, against an enemy that didn't know I was there, then as I was reloading, was killed with one or two shots from some weapon I didn't recognise. Because there's so much incentive, I still queue for a crucible once a week and suicide myself a few times to avoid AFK. I think the scary thing, is that even standing in control zones to suicide, I often get one or two points and end up the middle of my team. It's obvious that at least half the team is trying even less than I am. I figure I am doing half the other team a favour by making them feel tough, doing half my team a disservice, because they want to play seriously, and half of both teams just don't care, so I figure no harm done. If my friends last until the next season, whenever that starts, I might enjoy things again, but for the moment, I'm doing a bit of grind in spare time to keep up, but if my friends ever decide to give another game a go, I'm out.

We had this across d1 and it wasnt an issue Man the d2 forum community have become a bunch of whiney little bithes Teams dont equal an automatic loss, play as you normally would with your own and youd be just fine, but no nstead sob like a girl and give up yeah thatll help you
-
145 RepliesBecause facing a team = loss right? We had the same team vs solos in d1. Except then people actually played normally and still managed to beat said teams as often as they got beaten. Today it's "They have a team playing together? STACCCCKED!" and immediately stop trying
-
2 RepliesNon-issue. Move it along.

I agree wholeheartedly. Thing is, I think the issue this poor matchmaking is hiding is that the userbase of PvP at any given point is too small for the problem to be resolved. Cross-platform gameplay or a PvP user count could actually "help" in some fashion, but right now I think PvP matchmaking is suffering from the plethora of modes Destiny 2 offers.

Sorry for slight hijack, as I take it post is about Crucible. I don't play Crucible much, but I play Gambit. And as much as I like Gambit, meeting fireteams alone not always means we'll (as most of my matches were played solo) get pwned. Not every fireteam is bunch of destroyers, some are just friends playing together, I know that because that's how we played. Yeah, we lost to randoms. Actually, same once happened in QP, though I was only random with team of five clanmates. And we lost on mercy or whatever to bunch of randoms. Ok, mostly two dudes who owned most kills. Probably my fastest match, lol. :) But that's not the point. What is the point: a) throwing you on win-streak into short-handed team that already in disadvantage happened so many times, especially on Legend (rarely happened on lower tier, in my four resets I've seen enough) it feels like it is programmed that way. And it is not related to my recent shifts when I'm playing at nights. So I doubt it is related to lack of players. It's not Reckoning, when it's cricket's chirping when I'm playing. b) team that is shorthanded still could be invaded. Like they don't have enough problems already. Even if it's team made of just two stubborn guys. 4 vs 2 and 2 got invaded. How's nice is that? Shorthanded (uneven rosters) problem also exists in Crucible. While in Quickplay it may be a lesser issue due to nature of mode, in Control or many of competitive playlists matches it is a problem. While in Comp (on lower levels, obviously) we were able to actually win 3vs4, any higher level than casual PvP I guess will rise the problem much further.

After match is over just block every member of clan/fireteam that you don’t want to run into again . And bam never see them again or at least lower the chance by a lot .
-
4 RepliesEdited by DARKDANCERUK: 4/8/2019 10:13:31 AMJust check if there is a team while match making then change character in settings and abort the matchmaking. Its not rocket science
-
27 RepliesIt’s being ignored because it isn’t an issue. I’ve beaten a LOT of 4 stacks with randoms. Know why? They didn’t leave. They realized: “if I leave then I guarantee my teammates a loss greatly effecting them. But if I stay and put in some effort we could win or st least go down fighting.”
-
It's the lack of players. Bungie can change their algorithms all they want. But without the player numbers any change won't mean a thing. What can bungie do to bring its playerbase back?
-
This shit is so broken we will need a miracle to fix this. Bungie cannot make a simple matchmaking algorithm for a major part of it's game namely pvp. We have heard all kinds of excuses and got zero progression. D3 is not going to fly with this attitude
-
1 ReplyWorst matchmaking I ever had to deal with. I have played today against one same 4 stack in gambit about 3-4 matches with randoms. That was waste of time. We had no chance. I have got my bounties and then leaved angry af. Great experience!
-
19 RepliesAh yes. Another kid who does not understand that just because its Destiny, competitive needs to be a solo based game mode.
-
5 RepliesOr you could stop trying to solo team based game modes....

This has been consistently ignored. The fire team vs randoms is obnoxious and could simply be stopped.
I would suggest finding some friends to play with

Edited by Dr0p119: 4/8/2019 2:37:30 AMfight fire with fire. oh how you'll laugh when a 4 stack backs out just because you're in a 4 stack. (comp)
-
Just joined a QP. 6 v 3 to start.... Once the other team capped all 3 points and got heavy we got 3 more teammates. lmao.
-
6 RepliesNeed a strong, consistent player base for that. This game has neither.
-
1 ReplyI agree. I expect for this to happen from time to time. In a play session of a few hours I rarely see the same players more than once either solo or stacked. There is no way solo players should match against stacks over 90% of the time. This needs to be balanced better.
-
You know whats awesome bungie? Loading into a short stack quick play match and noticing a four man party with 2 Not Forgottens, a Luna and a Recluse. Wtf? Look everyone can play their way. But its not a fun experience to get curb stomped and on top of it know you were out gunned in gun fights. Please fix your game. Provide a path to pinnacle crucible weapons in Quick Play.

Destiny matchmaking has been shit tier for an age, it gets even worse when the player numbers drop, and goes into overdrive when you solo.
