30% nerf to 100 equals 70. 15% buff to 70 equals 80.5. Net nerf = 19.5%
How is this a buff again?
Even after the upcoming scout rifle "buff", this is still the single largest weapon type nerf in the history of the Destiny franchise. And it was stealth too, Lol!

Update: buff clocks in at ~14.5% Doesn't move the needle. That said, Rampage is good on scouts, and the range at which you can chain percision shots with a scout is unmatched save for Graviton Lance with catalyst (the crit machine). Percision shots are everything in this game now btw. More important than perks. You will be absolutely punished if you can't make mostly percision shots. This is more true for scout rifles than any other non-sniper weapon.

1 ReplyThe 30% was apparently incorrect. It took into account the explosive round bug from the same time.. for some reason. Who knows? Until someone breaks it down all I can say is that I'm pretty sure scout damage was never nerfed by 30% outright lol. Nameless Midnight was probably what they had in mind. It was definitely hit hard by the nerf and bug. My Polaris Lance is back in business as far as I can tell.

Pretty sure precision damage was buffed when scouts were nerfed. So the damage buff will stack with the precision buff. Idk just wait till someone gets the damage numbers on Reddit tomorrow. Idk why you’re complaining now

Had to clear the way for bows. They have closet nerfed many specific weapons to vault them in favor of year two versions. In the past such moves would have brought down fire from the streamers who were always watching and testing and proving things. Now they all sleep well in bungie paid for hotels and talk up how great the new supers are....

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure they buffed precision damage before forsaken and that’s why they nerfed scouts but obviously overdid it.

I'm hoping it reverts the nerf and gives it a 15% buff (even though I know it will only be a 15% nerf instead of 30% nerf), because Scout Rifles are the worst weapon type currently in game. There's just no reason using them anymore.

It depends on wether the 15% is from the original 100% or from the reduced 70%. If it’s from the reduced amount then you’re correct. If it’s from the 100% then it would be back to 85% from the 100%.
