Because it's a fun, worthwhile alternative to Graviton and V Wing. It's probably the best Pulse in its archetype, and maybe even the best non-Exotic Pulse in general. I've only gotten 200 kills with it so far since I got it recently, but I really want to see what it can do with Devour, because it's already great without it. Although, you really do need to learn to control the recoil when Desperado is active, especially from farther out. It can kill faster than every primary in the game, just not as easily, nor at all times. Even SMGs and sidearms lose out to it up-close in outright fights when the perk's active.
