Honeslty I like the explosives because if you shoot one, you kill a really large group of enemies that normally would have been dangerous. My issue is that 4 renown gives you 8 tokens while anything under that basically isn't even worth looting a lost sector for.

  • But the explosives can’t do anything that a normal non-supply cache explosive can’t do (barrels, cabal tanks, etc.) You can also use rockets, grenades, or other simple methods of crowd control. These cache explosives don’t add anything to the table that we didn’t already have access to. All it adds is another way for us to die and lose stacks of renown.

  • The explosions from the supply caches are much bigger than any other explosive, and they deal more damage. Also I can use a sniper without having to use a rocket instead. I honestly can't remember dying to these caches at all, and I've had 80+ rank increases across all the factions. Most of the time there is a smaller explosive that can set off the supply cache from a safe distance. I really don't see the issue.

  • Because you don’t see the issue doesn’t mean it isn’t there. I haven’t run a single faction rally this season without dying to these caches a few times. I use rockets, shotguns, other close range stuff, so I gotta be up close. Enemy grenades trigger the caches, my grenades do, my super does. It is annoying as hell to work around.

  • Why not use the explosives to your advantage? It's much easier to use them to kill most of the enemies. There are a multitude of issues in this game, but I really don't think this is one of them.

  • Because, honestly, I’d rather not. As I’ve already said, there are already a multitude of other environmental explosives I COULD use, but I don’t often. I have almost no need for them, but I won’t complain if they are there. The bigger ones, however, I will complain about. The only thing the bigger explosion radius and larger amount of damage will do to me is get me killed more randomly. Environmental hazards aren’t my style. Like I said, I enjoy charging in and getting it done quick. With renown, that’s already VERY difficult. Last thing I want is to get to the end, kill the boss, and then some dreg tosses a grenade or shoots and hits an explosive. The barrels, tanks and cubes are all moveable, so in the midst of all the enemies running about and things knocking around, they get blown out of my path. The caches, however, stay in one place all the time.

  • The caches have massive amounts of health. I still fail to see the issue, but to each their own I guess.

  • To players, yes. To enemies, seemingly less so. It takes me half of a mag to blow them up, but enemies seemingly blow it up with one grenade. To each their own is right, but more environmental hazards is unnecessary, especially in a time where players CAN’T die.
