As a current life scout, it’s dumb because they already have Girl Scouts. They should stay to gender exclusive programs for adolescents because we are still maturing. Also Boy Scouts was already available for 16 year old women through venturing.

Scouting (both genders) worked best as a single sex, romance-free environment. This is an unnecessary solution to a nonexistent problem.

The BSA also seems to have a more outstanding reputation for what they do, apart from cookies. Also, why start at 16? What would be so wrong with learning the things you're learning with a girl in the room? And why can't you learn to be mature around people of the opposite gender? Seems to work out just fine in school.

Sexual tension is apart of the maturing processes as well young teens and such could easily get distracted and such with mixed genders instead of just having the Girl Scouts made better. Or keeping them separate in some way. Sounds awful but it really isn’t. They would still do activities together I’d say just not recreational stuff

The American scouts aren't the only ones allowing girls in their ranks, tho. Many other countries have already been doing it for years, and that hasn't affected them negatively at all.

It does. And school serves an important purpose for young people. But with school already coed, why does scouting need to be?
