I’m surprised I’m the first comment on this...
Either way, this really pisses me off. I try to stay fairly independent toward things, but Russia attacked our electoral process and our two congressional bodies both voted almost unilaterally to punish them for it. Now Trump, a man who is openly trying to undermine an investigation into his potential links to Russia is refusing to punish the very country he claims to have no ties to despite a bipartisan vote for him to do so!
It’s absurd. I get why people who hate liberals love Trump, and I get how pathetic people who love bullies love him, but I don’t get how any rational person who loves America could love somebody who is so blatantly elevating another country above his own.
Trump is shitting all over the image of what a republican is to so many independent voters who may lean right and causing irreparable damage to that party’s image. It’s a shame to see republicans all so complacent with that just because they can make some money off the same wealthy donators who Trump campaigned that he’d be against.
I can’t wait for politics to be boring again.

They didn’t attack our electoral process

I personally have begun to distance myself away from the Republican Party's ideologies mainly because of Trump and his rabid cult of supporters, much like many of my Republican-leaning friends and colleagues have already been doing. A lot of my friends who voted in Trump did so just to not vote in Hillary, but as of now, most of them heavily regret voting for him (even though Hillary won popular vote), because he represents very little to nothing of what Republicans really support other than the Pro-Life part (which is questionable since he was a staunchly pro-choice before becoming Republican a few months later). As a registered Independent, I have a much more negative view of the Republican party than I did under Bush Jr. At least with the Republicans at the time and Bush Jr., they were willing to make concessions and compromises, but under Trump and the current Republicans, they are so against anything that isn't for deep Republican/far-right ideologies, even alienating Independents and moderates. I lost a good chunk of faith in Trump leading this country effectively when he labeled all Filipinos as a bunch of animals and terrorists that need to be dealt with, and that was during his campaign trail. He has slowly lost more and more support from me personally based off of his actions (and lack of action), while also his constant twitter fights with literally everyone around him that doesn't agree with him. As of now, I have very little to no confidence in Trump running the US effectively on the world stage, but I do have a lot of faith in him and his rabid voter base running the US federal government into the ground.

You're an idiot if you think the majority of Trump voters actually agree with 100% of everything Trump says or does.

People make excuses for him because A), He's patriotic and B), He's better than the opposition.

Don’t act like people within the right are so quick to judge him. Even in Congress the Republican Party has devolved to sycophants as the lack of response to this non action shows.
