• Not to stir the red pebbles, but aren’t you a staunch member of the BDF?

 • That term actually has no meaning to me. It's just a false label assigned by people who don't allow others to have a different opinion. I support Bungie where I can and I've given criticism where it's needed from my point of view. If that bothers people I can't help it. Labeling people as bdf, fanboy, sheep or whatever is the same berating attitude from people who are afraid of debate and would just rather call names. The same people are also hypocrites because as soon as labels are thrown the other way they are victim. So keep your label throwing because in the end it really doesn't mean anything.

 • Logan. Take a step back. You know there are people who won't allow people to dislike the game It's the same thing with "haters" Just a different label and side Unfortunately the few ruin it for the many

 • Yea that's true. The overlaying problem is pessimism vs optimism. The "fanboy" is generally the optimist where the "hater" is generally the pessimist. Pessimism generally comes with a negative connotation. So why then to the pessimists rag on the optimists? Because they believe it's blind optimism. However that's only an assumption. Assuming also had a negative connotation.

 • You left out pragmatism. I feel the way I do because I’ve been here since the beginning. Been called both fanboy and hater. I’m neither. I face what is. Lost a couple of friends over this stuff - they kept insisting I was playing victim. Nothing of the sort. I don’t like to be lied to, and I hate being lied to over and over. Bungie’s pattern of behavior is clear. I’m not giving them a pass anymore. That sometimes puts me at odds with people, which is a shame, but truth is truth. Something else to consider when you reference “toxicity”... you realize any change that’s about to occur happened because players on all platforms and all social media rightly gave Bungie the hell they deserved, and ultimately threw their hands up in disgust and left, right? All the positivity in the world didn’t move the needle one bit. As long as Bungie could maximize monetization through MTX, they would. Nothing happened by accident. If you were to put all the events since D2 launch on a spectrum there is a clear cluster and a clear outlier. The outlier is Bungie telling the truth. That is, if you can call rolling disclosure truth. I’m also afraid tomorrow’s patch and IB is going to be another in a series of catastrophes. Bungie isn’t going to give up on MTX, and I can’t wait to see how they try to slip it by us this time.

 • Dang. I saw this some in late last night and then the notification got buries. I found it!!! When it comes to gaming I'm fairly easy to please. I work all week and just want to come home and virtually shoot stuff. So while I can understand how many of the changes are disliked they honestly don't bother me. I can still shoot stuff. I play it as they've designed it and it works fine for me. I'm also a full believer that any push for MTX lands squarely on Activision. Whether directly or influence on decisions. Publishers/Distributors will push to maximize income for the Developer. Rarely will a developer look to take advantage of MTX in a really bad way. That's my take anyway.
Something else to consider when you reference “toxicity”... you realize any change that’s about to occur happened because players on all platforms and all social media rightly gave Bungie the hell they deserved, and ultimately threw their hands up in disgust and left, right?
Of course but that's not what I mean about toxicity. Toxicity to me is being harshly negative just for the sake of being harshly negative. I'm in Customer Service and have been for years. What we do relies on feedback to improve. In and of itself toxicity cannot be ignored as a number but it can be put to the side in favor of more constructive negative feedback. It counts towards what's wrong but it's just not as valuable. People are disgusted and I get that but given what internet anonymity does to some people there needs to be a filter in place so real feedback gets through and it did. Combine valuable (negative) feedback with dwindling player numbers and something was bound to crack under the weight.
That is, if you can call rolling disclosure truth.
This is a tough one for me. Overall it's undeniable that the level of development communication was terrible. I can only fell that someone above the actual developers felt that was an ok way to be. Clearly they were wrong. I don't believe any 'omission of truth/fact' by them was malicious lying but clearly leaving certain creative, mechanical, and economy decisions in the dark was not wise. Not in this day and age. Always appreciate your feedback Bill. As with some we may not always agree but you can be talked to and you listen.

 • Thank you. And for my part I don’t consider you toxic. We all have good and bad days.

 • Well there's a lot of labeling going around A lot of the people who can to this post, I'm sure you can see they aren't the haters you thought they were. But there are haters out there Same goes for those who like the game. Who know why the other side doesn't like the game. But there are those who will put down others for even trying to say anything against their beloved game. It goes both ways
