I don’t have an opinion on healthcare. But we really need to pay our teachers more. They get paid like shit and a lot of them end up not putting effort into their job because they have to go to another one after school. And teaching takes a lot of time and energy. If we pay them more then more people will want to be teachers we cane get highly skilled and trained teacher to help our students. The average pay for a teacher at my school is $45,00 per year. This is in an area where houses prices are between $200,00-$600,00.

Edited by Section Ratio General: 1/28/2018 8:09:17 PM$45k a year, that's pretty decent. My old high school has tenured teachers barely sitting at $50k/year, and my cousin is teaching at an elementary school full time for only ~$35k/year. I agree that teachers need to get paid more. As for heatlhcare, I don't mind if my taxes would go more towards helping others around me get access to healthcare. I'd prefer that over putting more of my taxes to building the biggest weapon in the world. Edit: I'd like to say that for colleges, depending on where and what subject, it varies. My old English professor was pretty much getting paid peanuts for working at the community college, while my old chemistry and physics professors were/still are getting paid around $110k/year. My old English professor moved to a UC and a CSU and is getting paid around $75k/year and $65k/year, respectively.
