My theory is, Bungie simplified everything in this game, in order to reduce the learning curve for new players. Now that they have those players, they will gradually ramp things up, and the final product will be more like D1. I think the biggest problem is they over simplified it, which made it somewhat boring, and actually pushed some people away. I'm still playing, and I will stay with it until I've played the expansions I paid for, but if they don't spool up the addictive mechanisms soon, I won't play past spring. I actually enjoy 4v4, but I miss having a choice.

  • Destiny 1 wasn't exactly a hardcore loot game. I am still amazed that people seem to think it was complicated? I don't think many D1 players know what that really is.

  • Seriously dude, have you seen some of the stupid questions people ask about the game. Yes there are some incredibly stupid people out there, they can't even figure out the most basic things in the game. I saw one asshat ask why the epansion wouldn't launch after he downloaded it, he said all it did was play a video.

  • I've heard the learning curve theory before. It just makes no sense. D1 had a learning curve. It worked out fine. Everything on the planet from phones to toilets is menu driven. What happened over the last three years that leads Bungie to believe that first time players to this franchise won't be able to figure out how to select Rumble or Rift from a playlist? I do subscribe to the notion that as a species, humans are getting dumber as time passes. But the changes in D2 are bit extreme.

  • I completely agree, they butchered the game, but even after making it so simple a toddler could figure it out, there are still stupid people, posting stupid questions and asking for stupid changes on the forums. I still see people complaining that it's too hard to level, and Exotics are too hard to get, holy crap man, Exotics drop in this game faster than dollars in a strip joint, and you can reach max level by playing easy content 2 hours a week, and when you do reach max level, it doesn't matter because everything scales. There are absolutely zero awesome weapons or armor to chase, not a single addiction mechanism exists in this game anymore. The past 3 years Bungie listened to all the cry babies, instead of the people who happily played the game and adapted to changes, and now we have a very pretty girl, with the personality of a floor lamp.
